Once again, we are proud to welcome back the incredible talent that is Claylish Coldiron (she/they) for DTE and Piknik Theatre's upcoming adaptation of ROMEO & JULIET. Claylish joins this ensemble in the roles of Mercutio and the Prince, where they bring magnetism, humor, depth, and nuance into every line delivered and move made across the stage!

Claylish was part of the White Rabbit Red Rabbit cast last year! They have been seen onstage leading shows such as Twelfth Night; Little Women; Our Town; The Polar Express; Futurity; and remained unseen offstage, working as a technician in many more. New works are her first love, having helped develop projects such as Lemuria; Indigo Dreams; The Invocation of Selena; Late: A New Musical; and more. This year is Claylish’s first as the new Artistic Director of Piknik Theatre, DTE’s proud partner for our first two shows of the season.

Maria’s other acting credits include Shakespeare in the Parking Lot's Romeo & Juliet, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, and The Pillowman. They have assistant directing credits on Russian Troll Farm at Strollers Theatre Company and Good People at Commonweal Theatre Company. As pleased as we are to welcome Emma Ackerman to FAIR IS FOUL, we are equally as excited to announce her portrayal as Tybalt and Friar Laurence in our upcoming adaptation of ROMEO & JULIET. Expect to see Emma leave herself behind and transform into a character who has garnered anger and sympathy alike since this storied play's very beginning. Her dynamism electrifies each and every scene she occupies - don't miss out on your chance to see it live!

Emma spent 15 years as a performer, production manager, and arts educator at Touchstone Theatre in Pennsylvania. Her Denver area credits include performances in area schools with CSF’s Shakespeare and Violence Prevention Tour; working onstage and backstage in Amelia’s Big Idea, Nutcracker, and Aladdin; performing in The Cottage and Spamalot; and stage managing in A Chorus Line and Pippin.

Taking on the other half of the iconic duo in ROMEO & JULIET, we enthusiastically welcome actor Tahlia Joséphine as our Juliet. In contrast to her sometimes sinister and always scheming role in FAIR IS FOUL, Tahlia's portrayal of Juliet is one that brings sincerity, depth, and warmth to this classic love story-turned-tragedy. Make sure you don't miss out on seeing her incredible performance!

Tahlia found her love of theatre at Lakewood High School and the Arvada Center, with roles in Something Rotten and Spamalot. Making her Piknik debut last year in Twelfth Night and Fledgling, and entering her third year at Boston Conservatory for Musical Theatre, Tahlia continues her acting journey by making her DTE debut in the upcoming show FAIR IS FOUL.

In addition to taking on the immortal role of Fate Itself in DTE's FAIR IS FOUL, Cal Meakins takes on Romeo in our upcoming production of ROMEO & JULIET with vulnerability and depth. The sheer emotion he puts into this character is something meant to be seen - so be sure to watch as he takes the stage beginning June 25.

Cal debuted with Denver Theatre Ensemble in our 2025 performances of White Rabbit Red Rabbit, and before that, they stage managed DTE's production of Circling in 2024. His other acting credits include How to Starve An Artist; Alabama Story; Romeo & Juliet; Futurity; James & The Giant Peach; 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee; Late: A New Musical; Once; and The Fantasticks.
