Please sign up to TESTIFY AGAINST HB26-1292 before the House Education Committee on Thursday, April 30.

This bill is a direct assault on religious liberty, parental rights, and school choice in Colorado.

HB26-1292 would force faith-based schools participating in scholarship granting organizations (SGOs) to comply with Colorado’s gender identity and s*xual orientation mandates, including policies impacting admissions, student conduct, participation in sports, and school culture, even when those mandates directly conflict with the school’s sincerely held religious beliefs.

This is government coercion into the sacred right of parents to direct the education and moral upbringing of their children.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: The hearing begins at 1:30 PM, but committee hearings often run long and bill sponsors may stall testimony to wear people down. Remote testimony through Zoom may be the best option for many parents.

Protect Kids Colorado Ballot Initiative Qualifies for November Election!
After a grueling but joyous effort spanning months and the entire state—grocery stores, community events, churches, and many other venues—our friends at Protect Kids Colorado, along with too many other dedicated volunteers to name, have successfully qualified Ballot Initiative 108 for this year’s November election! And two more are in store! Grandparents4Kids was a proud participant in this amazing effort, which we understand is the first all volunteer citizen’s initiative to qualify for a ballot. Here is what 108 and its companions 109 and 110 propose:
108: Increase penalties for s*x trafficking minors—173,000+ signatures gathered.
109: Keep girls’ sports for girls—170,000 signatures gathered.
110: No gender affirming surgeries for confused minors: 163,000—signatures gathered.
By putting these issues to voters, we have a chance to reign in a state legislature running rampant over individual and parental rights to pursue an incoherent ideology. These initiatives are about keeping children safe. As grandparents committed to helping protect our grandkids we need to spread the word!

NEWS FLASH: The sponsors of SB26-018 "Legal Protections for Dignity of Minors," Katie Wallace, Chris Kolker, Meg Froelich, and Lorena Garcia, amended the bill at the Senate Judiciary Hearing today to remove the provision stripping parenting rights from parents who question their child's decision to change gender. While a victory for parental love and rights, the retreat was only tactical, as sponsor Sen. Wallace acknowledged. Over 70 citizens signed up to testify on line or in person. Grandparents4Kids was proud to be joined by friends including Protect Kids Colorado, Colorado Parent Advocacy Network, Dr. Travis Morell, United Community Leaders of Colorado, Christian Home Educators of Colorado (CHEC), Coloradoresilience.org, and the Colorado Catholic Conference to provide overwhelming testimony against this misguided attempt to divide families and hide name changes based upon a denial of biology and reality.
