The GOP’s federal budget cuts to SNAP and Affordable Care Act tax credits mean 5,000 residents could lose access to grocery assistance and 10,000 residents could lose access to their health insurance in Aurora and Cherry Creek.

On Friday, Colorado's Prescription Drug Affordability Board announced its plans for the next round of affordability reviews. Prescription medications don't work if people can't afford them. These affordability studies will identify the medications that cost hardworking Coloradans thousands out-of-pocket, so that the state can bring those costs down.

Kudos to Loveland City Council for introducing a package of housing policies to make it easier for residents to build accessory dwelling units on their property and for the city to build more types of housing that’s affordable. The updates to the city’s Unified Development Code will provide more flexibility for the city to build housing that keeps Lovelanders in their community.

Though concerns about housing affordability helped spur the amendments, Planning Manager Kerri Burchette told the council that the package takes a broad approach rather than focusing specifically on affordable or attainable housing.
