After the recent rains we were able to recover 480 lbs of trash from our litter boom at Weir Gulch! This demonstrates how effective these litter booms are at preventing trash from flowing downstream to the Denver South Platte River.

This Saturday! Three locations to help out at plus flows will be high enough for on water cleanup! Please rsvp at link in bio. We will be at the fishback park / boat takeout location, but please join whenever you can. The rain and melting snow have washed a lot of trash into the DSP.

COMPETITOR ENTRY FORMAT FOR 2026

Submit the entry form to register for a chance to compete in CarpSlam XX. As amateurs (Slamateurs) sign up for the competition, a fundraiser website will be set up for each person. Fundraising for the DSP will take place from May 1st through September 19th, (the day of the tournament) BUT, the top 14 Slamateur fundraisers as of September 1st lock in their spots to fish the competition.

Once the form is completed, please give us 1-2 business days to setup your fundraising page. We will notify you with the info and link to share.

Everyone who registers will automatically be entered into the “Slamateur” category, with final competitors randomly paired with a “Slambassador” the night before the tournament to create teams of two (at our Team & Beat Draw Party). Slambassadors will guide, teach, and fish with their teammate the day of the tournament.

All skill levels are welcome to register. If you fly fish but do not know carp, or if you carp fish but do not know the Denver South Platte, all are welcome. For your fundraising efforts, competitors are rewarded with a guided, competitive, educational & a fun day on the DSP. The top fundraisers will also receive amazing prizes from our generous donors and sponsors.

Denver South Platte Cleanup, Costume Contest & After-Party! Final Cleanup of the Season—Costumes Welcome!
This Saturday, October 25th. 10:30am
Protect Our Rivers, Montucky Cold Snacks, Denver Trout Unlimited and Meow Wolf are joining forces for one last cleanup of 2025—right in the heart of Denver!

We’ll roll up our sleeves for a South Platte River cleanup, then keep the good vibes flowing with an after-party at Avanti, featuring free Montucky Cold Snacks, prizes, and plenty of celebration.
Costumes are highly encouraged—because it’s Halloween weekend!

Come make an impact, show off your spooky (or silly) side, and help us give the South Platte a clean sweep before winter.
