Denver Park Trust

Denver Park Trust We work closely with Denver Parks and Recreation, and community leaders to improve neighborhood parks in a meaningful, and relevant way.

The Denver Park Trust is the philanthropic partner for Denver Parks and Recreation, mobilizing support to fund projects that ensure every resident has a place to gather, play, and enjoy nature. Studies have shown that green spaces—gardens, parks, tree-lined streets—not only contribute to the well-being of our environment, but also to the well-being of the communities, and individuals who surround

them. At the Denver Park Trust we believe that every resident, in every neighborhood, deserves to be within walking distance of a high quality park.

Yesterday, volunteers teamed up with the Denver Park Trust and to plant 400 native and climate-adaptive plants at Argo Park in North Denver. 🌱

This landscape transformation is bringing real environmental impact to one of Denver’s most vulnerable neighborhoods, Globeville, which experiences disproportionate heat, pollution, and severe weather impacts.

In 3 years, these plants will be well-established, saving thousands of gallons of water and creating a haven for native pollinators. 🌼🐝

Thanks to volunteers and donors like you, the Denver Park Trust is supporting the city in meeting our climate goals 💚 Today, on the last day of , join us. denverparktrust.org/donate

Join the Denver Park Trust and Denver Parks and Recreation to help restore native and climate-adaptive landscapes at Argo Park in North Denver!

Volunteers will help work the soil and plant native plants and shrubs. Sign up: bit.ly/volunteerdenver

About the project:
Thanks to support from the Colorado Garden Foundation, the Denver Park Trust is helping DPR transform 10,000 sq ft of water-thirsty turf grass into a climate-resilient landscape in one of the most polluted zip codes in the country. The Globeville neighborhood experiences higher heat, air quality, and severe weather vulnerabilities than more affluent and greener neighborhoods in Denver. The pollinator garden at Argo Park will help restore native landscapes, connect pollinator habitats, and provide community education about the importance of pollinators and their impact on our environment.

We saw amazing progress in our parks this year, and we're so excited for all the park projects ahead of us in 2026.

#1 The Trust for Public Land releases a ParkScore Index for the 100 largest US cities. In 2025, Denver was ranked the 10th best park system in the nation, steadily climbing since coming in at 29th in 2019.

#2 The Denver Park Trust contributed $75,000 to the City’s purchase of 2 acres at 1060 S Emporia St. in east Denver. The future park will serve an estimated 1,700 households in Denver and benefit hundreds more in neighboring Aurora.

#3 Martinez Park, named after the first Latino and Coloradan to receive the Medal of Honor in WWI, opened to the public after adding a community pavilion, new playgrounds, and a tribute to Private Joe P. Martinez. The Denver Park Trust raised $116k from 700 donors to fund the tribute plaza.

#4 Volunteers from the American Rental Association and Toro Foundation planted native plants and trees as part of a native landscape restoration project along the W. Tennessee Ave. Greenway in Athmar Park.

#5 With support from our Community Grant Program, artists collaborated with neighbors around Fuller Park to paint a mural on the basketball court.

#6 In 2025, the Denver Park Trust coordinated 65 volunteer events with local businesses, individual volunteers, and the volunteer team at Denver Parks & Recreation.

If you want to see this great work continue next year, make a donation to support your parks! bit.ly/DPTgives
