Every girl deserves to play. Every family deserves to make private medical decisions. And no politician should get to decide who counts as a woman.

In today's The Denver Post, our President & CEO Renee Ferrufino explains why Propositions 134 and 135 threaten the freedom and dignity of women and girls across Colorado.

These measures won't make child care more affordable, put more money in women's pockets, or help families get ahead.

Colorado women and girls deserve real solutions, not more restrictions.

Not every ballot measure moves Colorado forward.

This November, The Women's Foundation of Colorado is recommending a NO vote on eight statewide ballot measures that could create new barriers for women, families, and communities.

From protecting access to health care and keeping families together to defending voting rights and supporting survivors, these issues affect our everyday lives.

Every vote helps shape the kind of Colorado we want to live in. And we believe that should be a state where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

Before you fill out your ballot, take a few minutes to understand what's at stake.

What would a more equitable Colorado look like?

A state where families can afford child care. Where schools have the resources they need. And where our tax system works for more Coloradans.

That's why we recommend voting YES on Amendment 87 and Proposition NN this November.

✔️ Amendment 87 would create a fairer tax system, cutting taxes for 97% of Colorado filers while generating funding for education, health care, and child care.

✔️ Proposition NN would allow Colorado to keep and invest approximately $4.6 billion in K-12 education and child care.

These measures could help build a stronger Colorado where women and families can thrive.

Today is — a reminder of how much further we have to go to achieve economic equity.

Latinas with reported earnings are paid, on average, just 53 cents for every $1 paid to white, non-Hispanic men. For Latinas working full time, year round, the gap is still significant: just 60 cents for every $1.

These gaps don’t happen by accident. Pay discrimination, occupational segregation, and other systemic barriers continue to limit the economic security of Latinas and their families.

At The Women’s Foundation of Colorado, we believe every woman deserves the opportunity, resources, and power to thrive. Closing the wage gap is an essential part of building a Colorado where that is possible.

What does it mean to shift power?

Our President and CEO, Renee Ferrufino, joined Jennifer Stapleton of Fire & Bliss on The Foundation Voice to discuss how we’re putting that question into practice—from community-led funding decisions to impact investing and policy advocacy.

Their conversation also explored women’s growing economic power, Renee’s experience as the first Latina to lead our foundation, and why she believes philanthropy needs to be more courageous.
