Our 3 main programs support high school students & those with little to no experience in construction find a rewarding career in construction.

Student Success Spotlight: K’Shawn

K’Shawn is heading into his senior year at Green Mountain High School with valuable experience already under his belt.

After participating in Geometry in Construction and Construction Management, his ambition and initiative helped him secure a summer position as an arborist and groundsman. On the job, he’s reinforcing classroom lessons in safety while gaining experience with irrigation, fall protection, risk management, and more.

We’re excited to see K’Shawn bring these new skills back to the Construction Management program for his senior year!

Construction careers aren’t limited to buildings! Landscape architects help shape the outdoor spaces where we live, work, learn, and play.

From parks and schools to commercial and residential developments, they combine design, technology, planning, and problem-solving to create functional and inviting spaces.

Industry Champions Bring Careers to Life

During the 2025/2026 school year, McLain Community High School students had the opportunity to step onto an active job site with Alcorn Construction and see firsthand how construction professionals solve real-world challenges.

During the tour, students learned about work underway at an apartment complex to update its fire safety and sprinkler systems - giving them a behind-the-scenes look at the skills, teamwork, and responsibility required in the industry.

Thank you to Alcorn Construction for being a CEF Industry Champion and opening the door for students to explore what’s possible.

Program Spotlight: Gateway High School

Looking back at the 2025–2026 school year, Gateway construction students put their skills to work on a project that will benefit their school for years to come.

Working with Mr. Sinclair, students built equipment sheds for Gateway’s baseball and track teams, gaining hands-on construction experience while creating durable, safe structures for the athletic department.

A great example of students learning by building something with a real purpose!

Student Success Spotlight: Izick

Looking back at the 2025–2026 school year, we’re proud to celebrate McLain Community High School student Izick and the skills he’s putting to work in the construction industry.

Izick is now working with Masters Plumbing and Construction, where he has gained hands-on experience installing gas lines and building his knowledge on the job.

It’s exciting to see students take what they’ve learned and turn it into real-world experience and career opportunities.

🎃 Program Spotlight: Vista Peak Prep

We’re throwing it back to one of our favorite events from the 2025–2026 school year as Vista Peak Prep gets ready for this year’s annual Punkin Chunkin competition!

Construction students worked in teams to design and build trebuchets before putting their creations to the ultimate test: launching pumpkins for distance. The event brought together construction skills, problem-solving, teamwork, and some friendly competition—with industry partners joining the fun, too!

We can’t wait to see what students build for this October. 🎃🔨
