For the last three years our mission has been helping children and adolescents with art programs in which they learn how to work with papier-mâché, make artistic masks, paintings, create murals and bring their creativity alive, all at no cost. One of our main goals is to help children and adolescents who've been abused to build better self esteem and teach them skills to overcome any situation. We
are raising money to be able to obtain the services of local artists to assist in this goal. Children, adolescents and guest artists will assist us in creating the largest altar in the United States. Colorado Day of the Dead 2020 is a community event where every culture, race, or religion are welcome. This year the altar will be streamed digitally through our Latin Fashion Week Colorado social media platforms. The altar will also be open for the public following all social distancing and Covid-19 protocols and procedures. Dia de los Mu***os is a multi-day holiday that involves family and friends gathering to pray, meditate and remember friends and family members who have passed on, helping support the spiritual journey of the dead. In Latino culture, death is viewed as a natural part of the human cycle. Latinos view it not as a day of sadness, but as a day of celebration because their loved ones awaken and celebrate with them. Given the current state of the world and all the events of this year, we feel there has never been a more important time to come together as a community and celebrate life and dia de los mu***os. The purpose of Day of the Dead 2020 is to bring the community together in this hard times. It is now more important than ever to remember our love ones who passed away during the COVID-19 pandemic.
