It is with profound sadness that we inform you of the passing of Antonio “Tony” Valdez, who served as our Executive Director for NHCC since the start of the association in 2021. He passed away suddenly on Saturday, September 30th and we want to extend our deepest condolences to Antonio’s family and loved ones at this difficult time.
To say that Antonio was integral to the success of the NHCC would be an understatement. His leadership, innovation, and strength of character advanced the cause of Hispanic business owners across the industry and played a pivotal role in bringing this organization to the place it is today. Antonio worked closely with many members of NHCC both professionally and personally, committing his time and energy to the strength of our organization. With his wisdom and foresight as our beacon, we have accomplished, and will continue to accomplish, great work in this important space.
Moments such as these draw us closer, and it is our wish as an Executive Committee to uphold the exceptional legacy that Antonio has left for us. As we meet to discuss the best path forward, we ask you to join us in this endeavor and commit to creating a better space for Hispanics in the cannabis industry.
We are in close contact with Tony’s family and will update the Board with details about a funeral service or ceremony. The family has set up a GoFundMe account to help with this sudden loss. We hoping to help his family in their time of need.
