The Summer Solstice is the longest day of the year, and as such it is a perfect time to celebrate light, love, and visibility! So please feel free to join us for some food and drinks at the chapel this June, and remember--no matter who you are, who you love, or how you identify, you deserve your time in the sun!

A presentation on limpias--spiritual cleansing. A limpia is a traditional cleansing ritual used in Latin American and Indigenous folk healing (curanderismo) to clear the mind, body, and soul of negative energy, curses, or illness.

JUNE 7, RUNNING FROM 11 AM TO 6 PM

Celebrate the vibrant Native American culture of Aurora by joining us for our first Powwow!

Join us at the Plains Conservation Center for Aurora’s first traditional powwow! This community gathering is an opportunity to experience and celebrate Native American culture through song, dance, vendors, and shared connection.

The powwow will take place from 11 a.m.–6 p.m., with Grand Entry beginning at 12 p.m. Guests of all ages are welcome. Please bring chairs, sun protection, and water. Parking is limited, so carpooling or using a rideshare is encouraged.

This is an alcohol-free event.

Additionally, we are collecting non-perishable food items for the Colorado Native Outreach Project food pantr to support local and surrounding Indigenous families.
We are in need of the following items:
- Canned Meats: Tuna, chicken, salmon, soups, stews, and beans.
- Staples: Rice, flour, oats, pasta, and cornmeal.
- Healthy Options: Dried fruits, nuts, and low-sodium canned vegetables.
Items can be dropped off at the CNOP tent. Every contribution makes a meaningful difference.

A presentation exploring the importance of agriculture, herbalism, planting, and harvesting within pagan religious traditions. This presentation will include a hands-on portion where we will learn how to properly plant seeds together as we discuss the historical link between cultivation and religious culture.

📣Today’s topic:

A presentation on Rupas and Avatars within the Hindu religion. In its simplest definition, Rupa more-or-less translates to "form" or "appearance", but in the context of Hinduism the concept gets more complex (naturally), frequently delving into the distinction and interplay between something's material manifestation and a possible more spiritual underlying reality. Similarly, Avatars are more than just set pieces for a James Cameron film franchise; they are the the material manifestations of the divine on Earth.

📣Today’s topic:
A presentation on "bodhisattvas", the saints of the Buddhist and Hindu world.

A bodhisattva is a person who has attained, or is striving towards, bodhi ('awakening', 'enlightenment') or Buddhahood. Often, the term specifically refers to a person who forgoes or delays personal nirvana or bodhi in order to compassionately help other individuals reach Buddhahood. In other traditions, the term applies to any spiritually heroic person who is driven by compassion to work toward the benefit and enlightenment of all sentient beings.
