2025 Fork Cancer MC Spotlight: Mekialaya White

Mekialaya is thrilled and truly honored to be back this year as emcee for Fork Cancer! It’s a night unlike any other here in Denver.

Over the years, she’s developed a passion for the fight against breast cancer as it touched several of her extended family members, including aunts and cousins. Witnessing their journeys taught her how precious life is, and how it is to be celebrated.
 She is also a huge foodie and showcases Colorado restaurants on her weekly 4pm segment, “Your Local Dish” with restaurant promoter Larry Herz. Larry initially connected her with the wonderful staff and Tastemakers. She is thrilled to be able to party with a purpose with you all to Fork Cancer! The night features Denver’s finest culinary establishments, while offering a variety of small plates, spirits and brews, plus live entertainment acts. We can’t wait to see you there!

2025 Spotlight on Fork Cancer Tastemaker: Megan McVeety

Meet Megan McVeety one of our dedicated Fork Cancer Tastemakers

Friends and Family,

I’m excited to share that I am raising money for the American Cancer Society’s Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN). This year, I am serving as a Co-Chair on the Board that plans a large charity party benefiting ACS CAN - Fork Cancer.

Cancer is a topic near and dear to my heart. When I was in high school, my aunt passed from Ovarian cancer. She was developmentally disabled, her symptoms overlooked, and it took too long to diagnose her. My sister is now a oncology genetic counselor that helps families access genetic tests, understand results, and make informed decisions on treatment.

ACS CAN is the nation’s leading cancer advocacy organization that encourages lawmakers to support policies that lead to the prevention, early detection, and treatment of cancer. We need people lobbying for us to have access to the research and science on how to prevent cancer, and affordable/insurance covered treatment. Cancer prevention and effective treatment should not just be for the wealthy.
