Two weeks ago, we co-hosted the first ever Food Justice Summit alongside the Denver Dept. of Public Health and Environment. The summit brought together nonprofit and community organization leaders, the Mayor, City staff, City Council members, and community members to discuss what’s working, what barriers remain, and how the City can better support food justice efforts. We were able to continue and expand on very important conversations about Food Justice in our Communities, knowing that this work doesn’t happen in silos. Thank you to everyone who showed up and continues to show up for this work, let’s keep the conversations going💜

Earlier this week, alongside some amazing community partners, we presented on Denver’s food insecurity crisis to city leadership. With 35% of residents identifying as food insecure, we know it will take all of us to make sure our communities are taken care of.

Check out the link in our bio to see the meeting recording and check out the most recent food insecurity survey from Denver’s Dept. of Public Health and Environment.

Today we joined partners, leaders, and advocates at the In-Person Food Summit Mayor/Council Briefing to continue the conversation on building a stronger & more equitable food system for everyone

As Kathryn Ardoin From Common Harvest Colorado emphasized, “Sustainability is priceless.” It’s about creating lasting solutions, not just temporary aids as this what moves us closer to a future where every family has access to nutritious food.

Let’s continue to turn conversations into action & thank you to everyone who continues to show up!❤️
