Congratulations to our graduates!! 🎓

Yesterday at graduation, we celebrated perseverance. Growth. Hard conversations. Fresh starts. Days that felt impossible and the courage our students had to show up anyways.

To the Class of 2026: we are incredibly proud of all you've accomplished, both inside and outside the classroom. Your resilience, determination, and commitment to your future have brought you to this moment.

As you take your next steps, know that you'll always be part of the PEASE family.

We can't wait to see where your journey takes you next. We are so proud.

P.E.A.S.E. Academy Director, Michael Durchslag, became inspired to find a way to bring animal assisted interactions to his students after hearing other programs share about their partnerships at last year's ARS Conference. Being able to network with leaders and innovators from across the country is how all of us build stronger, more meaningful programs for the youth we serve.

From our friends at Faces & Voices of Recovery: Young adults and peers with lived experience in the criminal legal system to help design a new program focused on mental health, substance use, and overdose prevention.

This project, called e-ConnectYA, will be offered through a national job training program and is designed to connect young adults to support in ways that feel relevant and useful.

Over the next five years, we’ll test it at six sites across the country to see if it helps young adults access treatment, find and keep jobs, and successfully transition back into their communities after detention. We’ll also learn how to make the program work well and expand it to other places.

We are starting a Community Advisory Board to help create e-ConnectYA. The Board will be made up of young adults ages 18–29 who have had past substance use issues and criminal legal system involvement. The Board will also include peers (ages 18+) who currently work with young adults with these experiences. If either of these apply to you—or both—we encourage you to consider joining!

As a member, you’ll:

· Join 8 virtual meetings in the first year (each meeting about 2 hours long)

Join 2 virtual meetings each year after (Years 2-5) (each meeting about 2 hours long)

· Provide feedback on materials between meetings

· Be compensated for your time ($50 per hour)

Your experiences and perspectives will directly shape how this program works.

Recovery high schools and adolescent recovery support services improve engagement and long-term outcomes, yet many families, schools, and communities don’t know if they exist or how to access them. This webinar supports the Association of Recovery Schools (ARS)’s broader effort to increase awareness through outreach, shared resources, and connection. 💚🎓

We cannot think of a better keynote speaker for the first day of the conference. Not only is Andrew a dynamic speaker, but he is a direct product of what each of the 3 sister organizations support. He was a member of an APG, a graduate of a recovery high school, and was a part of a collegiate recovery program. His experience in all 3 has lead him back to Houston’s longest running recovery high school to serve as their Clinical Director. If you haven’t registered already, being able to catch Andrew share and inspire is definitely a reason to. See you all in Denver.
