Oftentimes, individuals resort to hunger strikes in an effort to push for change inside the Aurora GEO Detention Facility. In one case, a person went 12 days without eating, ultimately becoming so weak that he had to be transported to the hospital, where he was restrained to his bed while receiving treatment.
