The Child Rescue Foundation, Inc. (CRF) “Granting wishes to children and families; building a safer community since 1999.” Visit our website at http://cr-foundation.org/wordpress1/

We seek to promote awareness, education, provide financial assistance, and, most importantly, aid to the innocent victims themselves; the children. Our unique approach assists those within all economic levels through:
*Proactive education, starting with school-aged children-- this includes educational materials (some even created by our own volunteers), classes, and prevention geared tools to help

stop or prevent violence from starting or escalating.
*Outreach and referral services for helping victims to recover-- helping those who have fallen victim to recover, rebuild, and become healthy again. Both thru basic needs (such as shelter, food, clothing, etc.,), emotional needs (counseling, education, etc.,), or legal matters (legal representation, child custody, etc.,)
*Financial assistance to those in need-- helping those who are struggling to get "back on their feet"; whether it is thru financial assistance, or providing them with basic needs.

--Please see our "notes" to find out more about what services we offer and how we determine who to assist, as well as success stories, thank-you's from those we have helped and information on our board members.

Cancellation of the 21st Heart of Imagination Day/COVID 19 update and cancellations

We have been so proud of the is amazing project created by our Board Member at Large, Shelley Irish, 21 years ago!
We have met the most fabulous volunteers, have served over 600+ children every year with face painting and art, got the opportunity to make sure our community knows there is support when you are facing crisis such as family violence, stalking, bullying, online cyber stalking and homelessness. We have reached over 15,000 children every year, and at no time, did anyone receive payment or salaries, including myself.
This is important, because when you care compassionate about others, especially our children who will one day be our infrastructure for our aging selves. For they deserve shelter, food, love and security every step of the way.
This year, as of May, we will be canceling The Heart of Imagination Day and Art of My Heart for Mothers Day mobile pottery painting. I thank Timothy and Sh*tal and her daughter, plus many more that give up their day to face paint, and amazing creativity, as well!! This event would also lack an enormous fun factor without our magician extroidinaire, Ned Nedbalski, who has give over a decade and a half to making children of all ages squeal with delight at his magic tricks, his gut splitting jokes, and that includes me!
We would not be able to do this event without the support of the Cherry Creek Public Library for 21 years!! Thank you!
I thank Darla and Leigh for their tireless serves on this project and know we will be back in the fall and winter stronger than ever!
We are still working on the Pencil Box Project, so keep posted on that upcoming info!
Reach out today and volunteer if you can!
I hope you support Jewish Family Services as well and log on tho their website for how to volunteer to help families who are hungry.
And as always, if you can support CRF financially, we are in deed grateful so we can get up to steam soon and continue the amazing work the volunteers, board and staff are doing!
We all appreciate you!
Be safe and be well… we will keep in touch!

Spring High School Stabbing: Life Flight Responds As Photos Of Blood Surface In Houston

Today there has been another incident on our school grounds where children have been murdered and once again, they are unsafe. In our ongoing quest to share information about topics such as this, I am adding the Safe From The Start Summit link....http://www.ncjrs.gov/html/ojjdp/summary_safefromstart/chap1.html . It details an outline compiled from numerous resources on the protection of our children, response to issues such as these and much more. A must read. Keep in mind it is over a decade old.
Also- another MUST READ is this link...if you think school violence is just an issue that has popped up in the last few years, check out this timeline....we need to take action to ensure the safety of our children in school, to help identify bullying early and use intervention wisely and swiftly, and to act to make this a safer and easier world for our children to grow up in.

We are still hoping to find 1 or 2 more people who would like to help with face-painting on July 6th, at out Heart of Imagination Day Event-- we realize this is a Holiday weekend, and many of you may be busy with your families; however, we're hopeful that anyone would like to help us out.
As we've mentioned before, it is helping paint faces from 9 a.m - 5 p.m. There is no experience, or expertise, required. We provide all necessary equipment, as well as lunch and drinks.
For anyone who may be fulfilling (or need to) community service hours for school, or a college degree/project, this is perfect!

This event is truly a WONDERFUL TIME, and it is also very important to us, as it helps us raise the funds necessary to help over 1,500 students in the Denver area.

To those of you on our friends list, if you cannot help face paint, please stop by during the event, and check out our booth-- we will be selling art, teddy bears and stuffed animals, and will have face painting for the kiddos, as well as a magician performing. This all goes on the same day as the Cherry Creek Art Festival, so if you will be in the area, come say hello! We will be in the booth in front of the Cherry Creek Library from 9-5 Saturday July, 6th.

Thank you, in advance, to those who can help or stop by!!!

We are aware that we posted this once before, but in case anyone missed it, and is interested in helping at our biggest fund raising event-
Do you enjoy spending time with children, making them smile and laugh? Are you artistic, creative, and outgoing? Do you enjoy volunteering, and helping others? We have JUST the task for you! On Saturday July 6th, 2013 Child Rescue Foundation will be holding their annual "Heart of Imagination Day"-- the event focuses on fundraising for our foundation. The proceeds we make at this event help fund some of our other major projects throughout the year; which helps approximately 1,500 local children. During the event we do lots of wonderful activities with the families who stop by our booth and make a donation- we do sidewalk chalk, painting, and the BEST of ALL...FACE PAINTING. We do, however, need volunteers to help with the face painting. No artistic skill or expertise required; we just ask that you come that morning, and stay till that evening, and bring your positive attitude and smile. We will provide lunch, drinks, and sunscreen, as well as ALL painting supplies!! If you, or anyone you know might be interested in volunteering to spend the day having a BLAST with us, please contact either Britt Schwartzkopf-Peacock ([email protected]), or Joanne Kappel ([email protected]) with the Board of Directors, or message us directly here on our FB page. Feel free to ask any questions, or indicate that you would like to sign up, and we will give you the rest of the details. Please contact us by May 30, 2013.
Thank you in advance to anyone who wishes to help. This is one of our biggest events, and without the help of our wonderful volunteers, we would not be able to do what we do!

This week has been a tragic, saddening and frightening time; with the bombing at the Boston Marathon on Monday, the plant explosion in West, Texas on Wednesday, and the events in Boston yesterday evening- the shooting of the young Police Officer at MIT, and the subsequent chase, shootout and manhunt, all involving the Boston Marathon bombing suspects. These events not only break our hearts, but remind us of the value of life, and how short and precious it is. So many lives taken from their families too soon, and so many people suffering devastating injuries. The board members here at CRF are sending love, prayers and healing thoughts to all those affected by the events this week- the families of the three precious individuals killed on Monday, the many injured, the Boston community and its heroic First Responders; the lives lost in Wednesday's explosion, the injured, those who lost their homes, the community of West, Texas, and their brave First Responders; and for the family of the young Police Officer who was killed last night. We also pray for strength for the many members of the Boston Law Enforcement community as their work to ensure justice and protect their community continues- we hope for a safe-end to this.
We also hope that this Nation continues to come together to help, encourage, protect and lift each other up- these acts can surely bring about the change necessary to bring an end to violence.
