Central Park has twelve neighborhoods, with eleven districts represented by an equal number of Community Delegates, and five Executive Board Members, who may serve concurrently as Delegates, as some do. As of today, five Community Delegate positions are open for one-year terms starting in January 2023: District 3 (Westerly Creek); District 7 (Centerfield/RTD); District 9 (Willow Park East & Wicker Park); District 10 (Beeler Park); and District 11 (North End).

My second and final Community Delegate term ends on Saturday, December 31, 2022, and as I am not seeking reelection to this post, I am happily endorsing my friend and neighbor, Josh Dembicki, a fellow North End resident and small business owner for the elected position.

After fire unexpectedly swept through parts of Superior, Louisville, and unincorporated Boulder County in late 2021, Central Park residents, particularly those in the North End and Beeler Park neighborhoods, have expressed concern about fire in the community’s vast open spaces, as well as the myriad acres located due North in the Rocky Mountain Arsenal. To this end, the Central Park MCA invited members of the Denver Fire Department to speak at the last community forum, where Department Chief, Desmond G. Fulton, and Division Chief, Robert Murphy, eloquently addressed the issue at hand, offering reassuring facts and practical advice.

I wish to thank everyone who took part in the annual election of delegates across the community, from Bluff Lake to the North End, in the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2021. Resident participation is vital to maintaining a vibrant community and healthy democratic processes, and I am grateful for everyone who took the time to complete and return their household ballot, ushering in new and returning delegates across Central Park’s 11 districts.

My friend and fellow Community Delegate, Shalise Hudley-Harris, who represents District 10, Beeler Park, and concurrently serves as a member of the MCA Board of Directors (BOD), recently assumed the role of President, becoming the first woman of color to hold the top position on the MCA BOD.

Central Park residents, if you received a couple letters from Park Creek Metropolitan District (PCMD) in recent months that left you with more questions than answers you are in good company, and if you questioned who covered the cost of sending these letters to 13,000 plus households, you are not alone either.
