Hey all! A few of our founding partners are teaming up on a new initiative, the Lost City Market, a 'pay how you can' farmer's market. We're having a soft launch today, Wednesday the 24th, from 5-8pm at Lost City (3459 Rinsgby Ct) focused on those who need a little extra help before we fully launch the market next week.

Our goal is to both support local farms and create a market accessible to all, including our neighbors who are struggling this summer, by allowing attendees to pay only what they can afford, or in other ways.

Our initial partners include Comal Heritage Food Incubator, Focus Points Family Resource Center, a multitude of farms through the East Denver Food Hub, Rebel Farm, Mile High Micro Greens, and Rebel Bread.

The market will be well spaced out with no contact transactions and be socially distanced, with masks required. Hope to see you there for our test run today!

Please join us tomorrow, Wed. 6/24 from 5pm to 8pm for the soft-launch of Lost City Market at TAXI Community, a pay-how-you-can (socially distanced) Farmers Market in partnership with Focus Points Family Resource Center!

This week, we'll have Rebel Bread, East Denver Food Hub, Comal Heritage Food Incubator, Mile High Microgreens, Rebel Greens, and more!

Denver Metro Emergency Food Network (DMEFN) stands in solidarity with all protests against the systems of oppression that continue to deprive the Black and Brown communities that we serve.

When we heard and saw the brutal event of George Floyd being murdered at the hands of police, it filled us with a range of emotions, with sincere condolences to that family, and our black brothers and sisters that continuously have to endure these traumatic experiences on a daily basis.

Last weekend, acts of protest, siphoned diesel, and graffiti were carried out on various parts of the property where our food network is headquartered. We understand that these acts of protest are an important part of dismantling the unjust systems that continue to stigmatize, and create barriers and challenges to access healthy food and to ensure food security for our most vulnerable population, who at this time continue to be the Black and Brown communities. The very same communities who are most impacted by the injustices of our criminal justice system.

We remain committed to the thousands of families, older adults, and individuals throughout Denver Metro by continuing to build relationships with those living the very experiences we seek to address. Remaining mindful that the systems we create need to address the racial inequities within food insecurity and healthy food access must be asset based, inclusive, anti-racist, and a safe space for community. Our mission will be to continue to offer prepared meals delivered to those in need while uplifting the voices to create systemic change and a meaningful sustainable impact.

With you, and in protest,

Denver Metro Emergency Food Network

Today, we reached the milestone of delivering 200,000 meals to community members in need. We are incredibly grateful to all of you who have supported our efforts over the last couple of months, especially given the economic uncertainty that many are facing. Your donations continue to make this a reality and we can’t thank you enough, so we’ll let the meal recipients do it themselves. Check out this video for a few messages of gratitude we’ve received ❤️🙏

Food insecurity was a problem in our community before COVID-19 struck, but the pandemic has only exacerbated the crisis. Thank you to Denverite for sharing this important story about the need in our community and the countless local organizations stepping up to help.

Organizations like We Don't Waste, Metro Caring and DMEFN, along with our partners at Focus Points Family Resource Center and Denver Food Rescue, are working hard to provide nourishing foods to those most affected, but we can't do it without your help.

Please consider making a donation to DMEFN today at denverdelivered.com. All contributions made this week will be doubled by a match fund up to $50,000, so your dollars will go twice as far. We appreciate your support

It’s , an international day of giving and unity supporting the emergency response to and the unprecedented needs caused by COVID-19. Thanks to our generous donors, we’re kicking off a match campaign so you can DOUBLE YOUR IMPACT in helping us continue this fight to feed those in need within our community.

DMEFN has been successful because of the generosity of our donors and volunteers and we’re counting on you to help us raise critical funds to continue our mission. We are grateful to an anonymous donor who has pledged to match all donations up to $50,000 so anything you can spare TODAY, will go TWICE as far.

Your contributions make an enormous difference. Every $25 pledged today supports DMEFN in sending 10 free meals to someone in need. Please donate at denverdelivered.com to help us reach our goal of delivering 250,000 meals by June.
