Support families and grassroots organizations impacted by recent devastating storms in Hawai’i ❤️ at a free event on April 19 from 4-10pm at Field House Aurora.

Over the past few weeks Hawai’i- especially Maui and O’ahu- has been hit by a devastating storm causing widespread damage across the islands. In response, Pacific Islander community leaders in Colorado are coming together to organize the Mālama ‘Āina Fundraiser.

This event is a community centered fundraiser rooted in care, culture, and collective action. It culminates in a lū’au-style gathering on April 19, bringing together businesses, artists, entertainment, and vendors to raise funds for those most impacted.

Mālama pono means “take care” in ‘Ōlelo Hawai’i. Hawaiians believe the ‘āina (land) is sacred and preserves life - in forms of culture, language, hula, and history. Without the ‘āina, Kānaka Maoli (Hawaiians) do not exist. “He all’i ka ‘āina; he kauwā ke kānaka” means the land is chief, and people are its servants.

We need your help: share this campaign, show up to the fundraiser, and donate to ohana impacted by the historic flooding in Hawai’i. More info linked in bio!

Transparency note: all donations will be processed through Colorado Asian Pacific United and distributed in coordination with event organizers. A summary of funds raised and distributed will be shared with the community after the event.
