Memorial Day 2026 Colorado National Cemetery Observance Monday 25 May 2026

Fort Logan National Cemetery (3698 S Sheridan Blvd) in Denver will host a solemn Memorial Day Observance on Monday, May 25, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the flagpole. The event features a wreath-laying ceremony, r***e volleys, Taps, patriotic music, and a military flyover.

Pikes Peak National Cemetery (10545 Drennan Road
Colorado Springs, CO 80925) hosts its Memorial Day Observance on Monday 25 May 2026 at 10:00am at the main flagpole. The free, outdoor public event honors fallen veterans, prisoners of war, and those missing in action.

Fort Lyon National Cemetery Ceremony 11:00am Monday 25 May 2026 : Located at 15700 County Road HH in Las Animas, this ceremony features guest speakers, wreath presentations, r***e volleys, and echo taps.

Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado (2830 Riverside Pkwy Grand Junction, CO 81501) Memorial Day services begin at 10 a.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own seating. Due to limited parking, carpooling and early arrival are recommended.

On Saturday May 30, 2026, from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM, volunteers will come together to respectfully remove the American flags that were placed on service members’ gravesites for Memorial Day.

This important task ensures the cemetery remains orderly and honors the sacrifices of our nation’s heroes. Working side by side, volunteers will help maintain the dignity of the grounds while reflecting on the courage and dedication of those who served.

Come ready to serve, connect with your community, and continue the tradition of honoring our fallen heroes. Every hand makes a difference!

On Sunday May 24, 2026, from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM, volunteers will gather at Pikes Peak National Cemetery to place American flags at the graves of our nation’s fallen service members in observance of Memorial Day.

Together, we will help ensure that every hero is remembered. By carefully placing flags throughout the cemetery, volunteers will take part in a powerful tradition that shows gratitude and respect for the sacrifices made by our military members and their families.

This is a special opportunity to reflect, connect with your community, and live out the spirit of service that Memorial Day represents.

Please plan to arrive early, as parking will be limited and the event will begin promptly. Your participation helps ensure that the memory of our nation’s heroes continues to live on.

Dress for weather forecast of high 74 low 54, light clouds, layers are best, very low chance of rain. Hat, sunglasses, sun screen. Some like work gloves.

Uneven terrain; sensible foot wear that works for you.

Bring bottled water, snacks for energy, screw driver, 12 inch ruler or 12 inch paint stick.

Service Dogs OK, no pets.

Flags will be placed in front of headstones, 12 inches out. No Flags should be placed on back side. Measure 12 inches out centered on headstone, push screw driver into ground, then push in Flag by the stick, don't pound in or you'll break the stick.

Stand back and Honor the Fallen by reading the Rank, Name, Service Component before moving to next placement.
