ONE WEEK OUT 🐾 The Block Party takes over Backyard on Blake next Friday, Sept 25 at 5PM.

Here's the lineup: 🧘 5PM: Free pilates mat class led by Jen Neapolitan of thepilateskitchen. Only 20 mats, and everyone who takes the class gets a free drink. 🎶 6PM: Four Lives live from the courtyard, plus drinks all evening. 💈 Free line ups by Bella of Snow Leopard Barbershop ✨ Free facials by Aesthetics by Giselle

Every underdog has an origin story. Here's ours 💛💙

In March 2020, the doors closed. In-person commerce stopped almost overnight, and every locally owned business in Denver had to exist online or not at all. Restaurants, shops, studios. Ordering, websites, digital presence, all of it, immediately, on top of everything else.

These are community staples. They were already masters of their craft. We just wanted to take building a digital footprint off their plate. We're a 501(c)(3) nonprofit powered entirely by volunteers, and our services are always free to locally owned small businesses. No fees. No catch. Built for the long haul, not just the emergency.

We could do it because we had a whole community of friends in tech who wanted to give back. That was the model from day one: friends doing good things. People with skills to share, paired with the local businesses we already loved.

It was never really about the websites. It was about rooting for the underdog, and for the local businesses that make this community so great.

Six years in, and we're so excited for this next chapter of fostering in-person connection at local businesses! More to come...

We have an announcement, and it's been a long time coming.

For years, The Underdog Family has been known for building free websites for small businesses. And we're proud of that work. Every site we've launched has helped an owner take back their storefront, their orders, and their story.

But here's the truth: the website was never the point. It was the front door.

The point was always people. Connection. Showing up for the underdogs, the locally owned shops, cafés, and kitchens that make Denver feel like Denver, and making sure they're not fighting to survive alone.

So we want to be clear about where we're headed. Moving forward, our laser focus is on bringing people together in person. Real gatherings, real conversations, real community, hosted inside the local businesses we love, so that every event we throw sends customers, energy, and connection right back to a neighborhood spot that deserves it.

We were always here for more than websites. We're just getting started. 🧡

Follow along. Over the next few weeks we're going to share our story, the work we've done, and the events we've got planned for the rest of 2026 and beyond. We'd love for you to be in the room!

We’re teaming up with The Pilates Kitchen for the perfect winter burn. Start with a mat workout in full ski fits (yes, really), then head straight into happy hour at a secret speakeasy nearby
