The time is rapidly coming upon us. Only 61 days until Christmas and 59 days until our Christmas Meal Drive boxes are delivered to the families on our list.

Be a part of the Light for the families we serve...the Light of caring, the Light of hope, the Light and love of the Lord.

No one needs to tell you how costly things have become and that, while it is squeezing all of us, it is especially devastating to families who were already experiencing hard times.

So please join with us and help us share the love with those around us so that the joy of Christmas can be shared by all.

𝟕𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐁𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐦𝐚𝐬 𝐌𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞

And so it begins! We are now accepting donations for our Christmas meal drive.

For those who are not familiar, each Christmas Eve we distribute boxes that contain 𝐬𝐦𝐨𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐥𝐨𝐢𝐧, 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐡 𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐞𝐬, 𝐛𝐨𝐱𝐞𝐝 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐣𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐝/𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐭 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐲, 𝐭𝐰𝐨 𝐭𝐲𝐩𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐯𝐞𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐬, 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐫𝐮𝐢𝐭, 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐛𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 (𝐛𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐬, 𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬, 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐩), 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐞, 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐤, 𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐭. Depending on donations, other items are sometimes included.

Our target families are those with school-age children who find themselves in the situation of having to choose between a Christmas meal and a Christmas morning.

While our focus has been families with children in local schools, we have also provided these boxes of love to families going through loss and extreme circumstances. Those have included families from local daycare, churches and even women's services.

My how the times flies! We are already in September!

The 2026 Light of Hope Backpack Program was a huge success, providing 500 bags of weekend foods to students in the QCA...breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks.
Thank you to everyone who gave of their time and treasure to make it possible and to be a blessing to these littles ones.

We have hit the time of year where we are shifting our attention to our 𝟕𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐁𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐦𝐚𝐬 𝐌𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞!

It may seem a little early, but gathering the resources to provide the food for full Christmas meals for what will be at least 150 families is not a short term endeavor.

𝐏𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐮𝐬 as we will be putting up information for how you can be involved in blessing these families, during this most wonderful time of the year.

Friends, family and fellow Quad Citians...

Our 𝐋𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐇𝐨𝐩𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 starts in a month and runs through June, in Silvis, and through the first week of July, in Davenport. For those who don't know, what this program does is provide a bag of kid-friendly, weekend food, each Friday of Summer School, for the children in our program.
We are to the point where we are having to place food orders, to ensure that all the food for these children gets here in time and can be portioned for distribution.

This year has, understandably, been a lean season for donations, given the higher cost of living for everyone. So, we are reaching out to you all for help, so that we can provide 500+ bags of weekend food for the children in our program. As with any charitable organization, donations are our lifeblood. So, any assistance you can give is greatly appreciated...not just by us, but by the children that this program serves.

If you are able and so inclined, please help us bless these little ones. Every dollar matters and goes to make a difference in the lives of these precious children.

We are still working towards our Light of Hope Backpack Program.

Times are hard on everyone. The cost of living is up and that impacts some of these children more than most. We need your help to ensure that each of these precious little ones has sufficient food for the weekends during Summer School.

Only $10 can provide a bag of food, covering breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks for Saturday and Sunday.

It has been a while since our last update.

We are still in the middle of collecting donations for our 𝐋𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐇𝐨𝐩𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦! We are down to two months before the food has to be purchased, organized, and prepped for distribution.

We have a long way to go and need not only your prayers and donations, but also for you to share us with your friends and family.
Help us to ensure that each of the children in our program have kid-friendly, weekend food for each weekend during Summer School.

We have over 100 kids in the program and will be distributing over 500 bags of food over the duration.

Friends and family...

We are now taking donations for our 𝐋𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐇𝐨𝐩𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦, which will run this coming June.

I wanted to specifically ask for something else, however. In our effort to serve as many children, and their families, as possible, we need to make more people aware of us. Like any charity, our lifeblood and ability to reach as many of these children as possible, rests with those of you who share our heart and love for those who are struggling with food insecurity.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, there is a way that you can support the Matthew 25:35 Foundation throughout the year and not even notice. Those of you who shop via Walmart.com can round up your final price, to the nearest dollar and those few cents will be donated to us.

The process is fairly simple. Follow this link...
