Friends, family and fellow Quad Citians...

Our 𝐋𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐇𝐨𝐩𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 starts in a month and runs through June, in Silvis, and through the first week of July, in Davenport. For those who don't know, what this program does is provide a bag of kid-friendly, weekend food, each Friday of Summer School, for the children in our program.
We are to the point where we are having to place food orders, to ensure that all the food for these children gets here in time and can be portioned for distribution.

This year has, understandably, been a lean season for donations, given the higher cost of living for everyone. So, we are reaching out to you all for help, so that we can provide 500+ bags of weekend food for the children in our program. As with any charitable organization, donations are our lifeblood. So, any assistance you can give is greatly appreciated...not just by us, but by the children that this program serves.

If you are able and so inclined, please help us bless these little ones. Every dollar matters and goes to make a difference in the lives of these precious children.

We are still working towards our Light of Hope Backpack Program.

Times are hard on everyone. The cost of living is up and that impacts some of these children more than most. We need your help to ensure that each of these precious little ones has sufficient food for the weekends during Summer School.

Only $10 can provide a bag of food, covering breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks for Saturday and Sunday.

It has been a while since our last update.

We are still in the middle of collecting donations for our 𝐋𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐇𝐨𝐩𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦! We are down to two months before the food has to be purchased, organized, and prepped for distribution.

We have a long way to go and need not only your prayers and donations, but also for you to share us with your friends and family.
Help us to ensure that each of the children in our program have kid-friendly, weekend food for each weekend during Summer School.

We have over 100 kids in the program and will be distributing over 500 bags of food over the duration.

Friends and family...

We are now taking donations for our 𝐋𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐇𝐨𝐩𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦, which will run this coming June.

I wanted to specifically ask for something else, however. In our effort to serve as many children, and their families, as possible, we need to make more people aware of us. Like any charity, our lifeblood and ability to reach as many of these children as possible, rests with those of you who share our heart and love for those who are struggling with food insecurity.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, there is a way that you can support the Matthew 25:35 Foundation throughout the year and not even notice. Those of you who shop via Walmart.com can round up your final price, to the nearest dollar and those few cents will be donated to us.

The process is fairly simple. Follow this link...

𝟔𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐁𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐦𝐚𝐬 𝐌𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞

The boxes are loaded and go out in the morning! Thank you to everyone who has donated time and treasure. Also, thank you for your prayers and support. Getting this together is no small endeavor.

After a couple of hiccups, we have landed at 132 families who will be served. Loaded in the boxes are...
1300 cans of vegetables, fruit, soup and cranberry sauce
200 boxes of stuffing
132 containers of fried onions
134 # of margarine
145 1/2 gallons of milk
200 packages of dinner rolls
250 packets of gravy
750 # of potatoes
198 desserts
67 smoked pork loins

Thank you all for being a part of blessing these families...sharing with them the hope and love that is Jesus.
