At our most recent Court of Honor we recognized and celebrated all of the accomplishments of our Scouts. In addition to the many Merit Badges that were earned the following ranks were also awarded:

First Class: Maddie & Mikayla

Thank you to Commissioner Trevor Finn who came out to Boy Scout Troop 33 - Riverside, PA and Scouting America Troop 33 G - Riverside, Pa’s troop meeting at St. Peter's United Methodist Church-Riverside, PA tonight to talk about County Government and Operations. He did an awesome job engaging with the scouts, answering every question thrown at him. Not only did the scouts learn quite a bit but it also helped complete one of the Citizenship requirements for First Class Rank. Also of note, Commissioner Finn is also one of our former scouts! Thank you!

The troop took a trip to McKean, Elk, Warren, Clearfield and Clinton counties. We started out at the Kinzua Bridge which was an awesome sight! The bridge was partially destroyed by a tornado in 2003 and subsequently opened as Skywalk. Afterwards we stopped at Hector Falls which was surprisingly awesome. An underwhelming small stream turned into really cool waterfall. We got to see some neat wildlife while there. We then headed to Parker Dam State Park where we setup for camp. The boys made a variety of mountain pies for dinner. The next morning we broke camp and headed for a search for Elk. They are in rut this time of year. We stopped at a couple of observation points and struck out each time. We heard some bugling but no sights. Then on the way home we spotted a bull elk in a field! Our final stop was Hyner State park for lunch and an awesome view of the West Branch of the Susquehanna!

This weekend at Camp Lavigne:

Russell and Anna successfully completed their Ordeal and were welcomed into the Order of the Arrow, Wyona Lodge 18.

MaggieRose and Amelia reaffirmed their commitment and dedication to the Order of the Arrow by earning their Brotherhood!

Everyone also provided cheerful service…no irksome tasks here!
