ABOUT THE FOUNDER
My style of rescue is a little different than most. I never wanted to start my own rescue—I did not want to deal with the bureaucracy that is usually associated with the industry. To this day, I do what I can for the dogs. I am often asked why, of all the dog breeds, I chose to rescue Pit Bulls. The answer is simple. Nobody steps up for Pit Bulls…not even dog lovers. I chose a breed that I felt needed the most help. Most people, including dog lovers, avoid Pit Bulls. These dogs have such negative stigmas attached to them. I want to help open people’s eyes to the truth. The dogs deserve it. The Pit Bull over population problem is out of control. I get hundreds of emails everyday of Pit Bulls in need of forever homes—from 2 week old puppies, to senior dogs, to those who were found abused or neglected. For me, the challenge doesn’t lie in rescuing, rehabilitating, and vetting these dogs. The problem I face is where to place the dogs once they are well enough to go to their forever homes? In my experience, mostly the wrong people are lining up to adopt Pit Bulls. Those who offer proper homes and who love the breed already have multiple dogs—many of these families have adopted 2 or 3 Pit Bulls from me already. I do not believe that everyone should have a Pit Bull. In my opinion too many people shouldn’t have any dog at all, let alone a Pit Bull. Pit Bulls require a certain type of owner. And unfortunately, those owners are far and few between...

But with your help, we can start to spread the word about these wonderful companion animals and remove the unfair stigmas they have received. If more people give these dogs a second chance, we can make a huge impact and save lives in the process. It starts with education. Spay and Neuter. Spread the word about the wonderful characteristics that make the Pit Bull a wonderful companion animal. Let’s keep the dogs out of the shelters. I believe the stats today are that 1 out of every 800 Pit Bulls makes it out of the pound alive. We need to reduce these numbers. Encourage everyone you know to rescue their next dog. OUR SUPPORTERS
I would like to thank everyone who has helped Friends To The Forlorn Pitbull Rescue Inc. Whether you pass along an email, donate items or $$$, foster a dog, visit a dog at the vet, or post a comment letting me know you appreciate what I do, your support has made a difference. HOW YOU CAN HELP
Abandoned. Neglected. At Friends to the Forlorn, we have seen it all. But despite the misfortunes Pit Bulls have endured, our commitment to them remains steadfastly clear: to provide save, loving, nurturing forever homes for these dogs in need. Through no fault of their own, our dogs found themselves in homeless situations. We are dedicated to making a positive difference in these dogs’ lives from the moment they enter program. Our goal is to help these animals in every way we can...emotionally, socially, physically…so that the transition onto their forever homes will be as smooth as possible. We strive to teach our dogs basic obedience and socialization skills, including proper leash manners and friendly house manners. We have dozens of Pit Bulls waiting for a forever family, we thank you for your interest in improving the lives of this deserving breed. 🐾❤️ IT’S $5 FRIDAY! GOOSE NEEDS YOUR HELP! ❤️🐾

After a grueling two-week battle with parvo, liver and kidney failure, and severe hookworm and whipworm infestations, our little fighter Goose has FINALLY gone home to his family! 🥹❤️🐾

Goose fought hard, and we fought right alongside him. While we’re thrilled he’s home, his fight left behind a pretty hefty veterinary bill.

That’s why we need YOU this $5 Friday! 🙏

Imagine what we could accomplish if EVERYONE who saw this post donated just $5! Five dollars may not seem like much, but together, those donations make lifesaving care possible for dogs like Goose.

❤️ Already signed up for recurring $5 Friday donations? THANK YOU! Please take a moment to make sure your card hasn’t expired and your donations are still going through. 🐾 GOOSE FOUGHT. AND GOOSE WON. 🐾

When Goose came to us, he was lifeless.

Completely lateral. Unable to even lift himself up. His little body was being attacked from every direction — parvo, coccidia, hookworms, whipworms — and he was critically ill.

Then his liver began to fail. His kidneys began to fail.

There were moments when the odds seemed almost impossible.

But Goose wasn’t ready to give up.

And neither were we.

Thanks to the incredible doctors, technicians, and staff at KAY Animal Hospital, Goose received round-the-clock care — oxygen, plasma infusions, medications, constant monitoring, and just about every treatment imaginable.

We spared no expense because there was a life in front of us that deserved a chance.

Dr. Leathers said something to me that I won’t forget:

“Anybody else would have thrown in the towel.”

But that’s not what we do at Four Long.

We fight.

And somehow, between an incredible veterinary team, countless prayers, well-wishes, love, and one tough little dog who simply refused to quit…

Goose pulled through. ❤️

His liver and kidney values have essentially returned to normal. He is on the mend. And after everything this boy has endured, Goose is getting ready to GO HOME TO HIS FAMILY.

There really aren’t words big enough to thank everyone who prayed for him, checked on him, shared his story, sent encouragement, and believed that he could make it.

And to the staff at KAY Animal Hospital: thank you for fighting beside us. You helped give Goose his life back.

Now we have one last hurdle.

Saving Goose came with a very substantial veterinary bill. We made the decision from the beginning that if there was a chance to save him, we were going to take it — whatever it cost.

If Goose’s story touches your heart and you are able to help us with his medical expenses, any donation, no matter the amount, would mean more to us than you know.

If you aren’t able to donate, please consider sharing Goose’s story. That helps us tremendously, too.

To everyone who stood behind this little boy:

Thank you.

Sometimes rescue is heartbreaking. Sometimes it feels impossible.

And sometimes…

you get to watch a miracle walk out the hospital doors and go home. 🐾❤️

Go home, Goose. You fought so hard for this.

🐾 WELL… I CAUGHT A DOG. JUST NOT THE DOG. 😂

I was called out to Bowden, Georgia, to help catch a mama dog who has been living on the streets for over a year. She’s had puppies, watched them get rescued, and somehow managed to avoid every attempt to catch her. She’s even walking around with a chain wrapped around her waist.

People in the area have been feeding her and the other strays, but Mama is SMART. Conventional traps? She knows the game. She wants absolutely nothing to do with them.

So last night I switched tactics and set a Collarum—a specialized, spring-loaded cable restraint that I’ve used successfully before.

And it worked!

Sort of. 😂

I caught the wrong dog.

Thankfully, my unexpected guest was less “HELP, I’VE BEEN CAPTURED!” and more, “Oh hey! Are we friends now?” 😂 She was happy to see me, perfectly content hanging out, and I learned she apparently belongs to someone up the road.

So… released, unharmed, slightly confused, and probably wondering why dinner came with strings attached. 🤦‍♀️🐕

As for Mama? I’m not giving up. I’ll reset, regroup, and keep working until we can get her safely off the streets.

Rescue work: 10% strategy, 20% patience, 70% explaining why you caught somebody else’s dog. 😂🐾

Stay tuned. Mama, I’m coming for you

GOOSE HAS TURNED THE CORNER! ❤️🐾

When Goose came to us, he was lifeless and on death’s door.

Parvo. Coccidia. Hookworms. Whipworms. Liver failure. Kidney failure. His little body was fighting EVERYTHING at once.

So we fought right alongside him. 💪❤️

Plasma infusions. Medications. NG tubes. Force-feeding. Oxygen. Round-the-clock care. Sleepless nights. A whole lot of love—and every single prayer, thought, share and donation from YOU.

And today, we finally get to share the update we’ve been praying for:

GOOSE IS EATING!
HE’S UP!
HE’S WAGGING HIS TAIL! 🥹❤️

He’s looking for affection. He’s looking for FOOD. And most importantly… Goose wants to LIVE.

He’s not completely out of the woods yet, and he’ll remain hospitalized at least through the weekend—but Goose has officially turned the corner. We truly believe this little fighter is going to make it. 🙏

Parvo alone is brutal. With everything else Goose was battling, seeing him standing, eating and wagging that tail feels nothing short of a miracle.

A HUGE thank-you to Dr. Leathers and the incredible techs at Kay Animal Hospital who have gone above and beyond for Goose—and to every one of YOU who prayed, donated, shared his story and cared about this little dog. ❤️

Now we need your help getting him the rest of the way home. His veterinary bill is substantial and continues to grow while he remains hospitalized.

Goose fought for his life. His life is worth fighting for. ❤️🐾

🐾 GOOSE UPDATE 🐾

Our sweet boy Goose has been fighting an unimaginable battle. 💔

Parvo. Coccidia. Hookworms. Whipworms. Kidney failure. Liver issues. His little body has been through so much.

For the past few days, Goose has been hospitalized with a feeding tube, IVs, oxygen, plasma infusions, and around-the-clock care. We have done—and will continue to do—everything in our power to give this boy a fighting chance.

Today, Goose gave us a little bit of hope. ❤️

He was eating on his own, up on his feet, and even looking for attention. It may sound small, but for Goose, it was a HUGE step in the right direction.

We are nowhere near out of the woods. Goose still has a long road ahead of him, and his care has been—and will continue to be—extensive and expensive.

🙏 Please keep Goose in your thoughts and prayers. If you’re able to help with his medical expenses, every single dollar makes a difference.

Thank you for standing behind Goose and helping us continue to fight for him. Keep fighting, sweet boy. We’re fighting right beside you. 🐾❤️

GOOSE IS STILL FIGHTING. ❤️‍🩹🐾

We need everyone to keep Goose in your thoughts and prayers tonight, because this boy is still in critical condition — and he needs every bit of strength he can get.

Goose came to us in horrible condition, and right now his body is fighting on so many fronts. He still isn’t eating, and he hasn’t been able to keep down the food we’ve been force-feeding him. He has pneumonia and swelling in his lungs, and we’re also battling dangerously low protein levels and anemia.

Today, we’re stepping up his care even further.

Goose is getting an NG feeding tube so we can get desperately needed nutrition into his body. We’re starting him on oxygen to help him breathe. He’s receiving a plasma infusion in hopes of giving his struggling body additional support, along with the medications and supportive care his veterinary team believes he needs.

We are doing EVERYTHING we possibly can.

Right now, we just need Goose to turn the corner.

If we can get him through this critical period — if his body can find enough strength to respond — there is still hope that we can save him.

And as long as Goose is willing to fight, we are going to fight right alongside him.

But we need your help.

His medical bills are mounting quickly. Intensive care like this is expensive, and we are not sparing expense when it comes to giving Goose every reasonable chance we can give him.

If you have ever wondered whether a $5, $10, $20 or $50 donation really matters — right now, it does. Every donation helps us continue saying YES to the care Goose needs.

❤️ PayPal: PayPal.me/FTTF
❤️ Venmo: Venmo.com/u/FTTFPitBull

If you cannot donate, PLEASE share Goose’s story. Share this post. Say his name. Keep him in your prayers and your thoughts.

This dog has already been through more than any animal should ever have to endure.

Now he needs a chance to know what it feels like to be healthy. To be safe. To be loved.

Come on, Goose.

Turn that corner, buddy. We’re all waiting for you on the other side. ❤️‍🩹🐾

🐾 LITTLE GOOSE IS STILL FIGHTING, AND SO ARE WE! ❤️
Little Goose came to us critically ill, with failing kidneys and liver. After initially testing negative, he’s now faintly positive for parvo. He’s also battling a severe worm infestation and coccidia.
Yesterday, our little fighter showed signs of improvement! He’s drinking, and his kidney and liver values have improved slightly, though they remain critical.
He’s receiving IV fluids, multiple medications, and around-the-clock care. Dr. Leathers and our team are giving him every possible chance to recover.
We’re not giving up on Little Goose! ❤️
Please help us continue his lifesaving care. Every donation, prayer, and share means the world to us.
