You probably didn’t know there’s podiatry care inside The Bridge. 👀

And for someone experiencing homelessness, that can be a pretty big deal.

For many, walking is the only way they get from one place to the next. Foot pain, injuries, infections, or other problems can make all of that harder.

That’s why our on-site Parkland Health clinic offers podiatry care right here on The Bridge campus, and The Bridge is currently the only shelter where Parkland offers podiatry care.

In the past year alone, the clinic provided 785 podiatry visits to our guests.

Because sometimes the difference between having access to healthcare and actually getting healthcare is how far you have to go to reach it.

At The Bridge, an average of 15 people every month are diverted from entering the homeless response system.

Our Diversion specialist helps someone find another safe place to stay, reconnect with family, or overcome an immediate crisis before they ever need shelter.

Because sometimes, the most important thing we can do is help someone get back on their feet before a short-term crisis becomes long-term homelessness.
