Last Friday, we celebrated a very special milestone for eight of our Early Learning Center friends as they graduated and prepared for their next big adventure: kindergarten. 🎓💛

It feels like just yesterday they were walking through our doors for the first time. Since then, we've watched them learn, grow, make friendships, build confidence, and discover just how capable they are. We've shared so many memories together, from crafts and storytimes to swimming, playground adventures, and countless moments of laughter.

While we're sad to see them leave our classrooms, we couldn't be more proud of the amazing kids they have become. We know they are ready for this next chapter, and we can't wait to see all the wonderful things they accomplish.

Congratulations to our graduates! Thank you for letting us be a small part of your journey. Once an ELC kid, always an ELC kid. 💙💛

As summer heats up, water safety matters more than ever. 💦

We’re grateful to WSLS 10 / WSLS.com and reporter Monica Johnson for highlighting this important conversation around drowning prevention and the life-saving impact of swim lessons.

A special thank you to Matt Reedy, Aquatics Director at the Botetourt Family YMCA, for serving as a trusted voice on water safety and sharing an important reminder: swim lessons can reduce a child’s risk of drowning by up to 88%.

We’re also proud the story highlighted our adaptive swim lessons, where instructors like Cathy Clubb help swimmers of all abilities build confidence, independence, and life-saving skills in the water.

Between outdoor adventures, exciting field trips, creative crafts, and hands-on STEM projects, our campers have been keeping us busy making memories all summer long.

You asked so we delivered!! The Botetourt YMCA will be offering two volleyball clinics this summer. Is your child ready to jump into a fun, active, and high-energy sport? Whether they are brand new to the court or looking to sharpen their skills, this clinic is the perfect place to learn the fundamentals, build teamwork, and make great friends.

Who: Boys and girls ages 8 to 15 (all skill levels welcome!)
