Thu, Oct 29 — Faith that shows up

"Faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead." (James 2:17) This month you have prayed, shared, worn purple, and lit your porch. Thank you. Now we invite you to go one step further: from awareness to presence.

Action step: commit one hour a month to Solo Moms through the end of the year. Folding laundry, making calls, mentoring, hosting a meal. Message us and tell us what's in your hands. God will show us where it fits.

🙏 Today's prayer: Lord, turn our prayers into action. Send workers into this harvest to rescue mothers and children still in danger and to walk with survivors toward wholeness. Amen.

Wed, Oct 28 — Her story is holy ground

When Moses approached the burning bush, God told him to take off his sandals, because the ground was holy (Exodus 3:5). A survivor's story is holy ground too. It is hers to tell, in her time, in her words. At Solo Moms we never share a mother's name, face, or story without her blessing.

Action step: before you post about someone else's pain, ask, "Is this mine to share?" Then honor her by giving instead of telling: rescuerestorerebuild.com.

🙏 Today's prayer: Holy God, honor every survivor's story. Protect her privacy and safety, and let her tell it, in her time, as a testimony of Your faithfulness. Amen.

Tue, Oct 27 — She considers a field and buys it

The woman of Proverbs 31 "considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard." She is strong, capable, and in charge of her own resources. Abuse tries to strip that away. Through our financial empowerment workshops, Solo Moms helps mothers reclaim it: budgets, credit, savings, and the confidence to plant their own vineyard.

Action step: bankers, accountants, and financial coaches, share your skills. Message us to volunteer, or sponsor a workshop seat at rescuerestorerebuild.com.

Mon, Oct 26 — The cycle stops here

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: the old has gone, the new is here!" (2 Corinthians 5:17) What a child sees, a child often repeats. But generational curses can become generational blessings. Through Breaking Cycles: Healing Together, mothers and children heal side by side, writing a new story for the family tree.

Action step: counselors, mentors, tutors, and grandparents at heart, message Solo Moms. Your steady presence could be the turning point in a child's story.

🙏 Today's prayer: Lord, let the cycle end with this generation. Make every child we serve a new creation, carrying blessing, not wounds, into their future families. Amen.

Sun, Oct 25 — Enlarge the place of your tent

"Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back." (Isaiah 54:2) This chapter is written to a woman who was abandoned, told she was barren, left alone. God's answer was not pity but expansion: more room, more children, more future than she imagined. God keeps enlarging our tent at Solo Moms, and there is room for you inside it.

Action step: ask your church to take up a one-Sunday offering for Solo Moms before the month ends. Message us and we'll send everything you need.

🙏 Today's prayer: Father, enlarge the tent. Make room for every mother and child still waiting to be rescued, and let them find a home among Your people. Amen.

Sat, Oct 24 — After the crisis, the long walk home

The crisis ends. The quiet afterward can be the hardest part: a new apartment with bare walls, children who wake up crying, paperwork piled to the ceiling. This is where Solo Moms lives, in the long walk from surviving to thriving, through our Freedom to Grow Survivor Services Program. On the road to Emmaus, Jesus walked the whole seven miles beside two grieving disciples (Luke 24:13–15).

Action step: walk with us. Message Solo Moms to volunteer, mentor, or bring your gifts to the table.

🙏 Today's prayer: Jesus, walk beside every survivor through the quiet, hard days after the crisis. Fill bare walls with peace and restless nights with rest. Amen.

Fri, Oct 23 — Seventy times seven tries

People ask, "Why does she keep going back?" Leaving often takes more than one attempt. It is fear, money, children, and hope all knotted together. Jesus told Peter to forgive not seven times but seventy-seven (Matthew 18:22). Grace doesn't keep count, and neither should we.

Action step: if someone you love has gone back, don't close the door. Stay close, keep praying, and when she's ready, connect her with Solo Moms: (813) 479-5926

🙏 Today's prayer: Lord, for the woman who has gone back, don't let go of her. Keep her and her children safe, and when she is ready, open the door again. Amen.

Thu, Oct 22 — Rachel weeping

"A voice is heard in Ramah, weeping and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children and refusing to be comforted." (Matthew 2:18) Some mothers in Florida did not survive this year. Some children will grow up without their mother's voice. Jesus wept at the grave of His friend (John 11:35), and He weeps with every family left behind.

Action step: tonight, light a purple candle in your window and pray for families grieving a life lost to domestic violence. Then let your grief become a gift that protects the living: rescuerestorerebuild.com.

🙏 Today's prayer: Man of Sorrows, comfort the families grieving a life lost to violence. And for every mother in danger tonight, rescue her before it is too late. Amen.

Wed, Oct 21 — Work as worship

"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord." (Colossians 3:23) For a survivor, a steady job is more than a paycheck. It is a lifeline, a daily proof that she is capable and free.

Tue, Oct 20 — Love is patient (and it never controls)

Jealousy that feels like devotion. Checking her phone "because I care." Pulling her away from friends "because it's just us now." Our teens are learning what love looks like from somewhere. Let it be from 1 Corinthians 13: love is patient, love is kind, it does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking.

Action step: read 1 Corinthians 13 with your teen tonight and ask, "Does the relationship around you look like this?" Then share this post so another parent will too.

🙏 Today's prayer: Father, guard our teens' hearts. Open the eyes of every young woman in a controlling relationship, and bring her out before the chains grow heavier. Amen.
