Paul and our interns baked up some beautiful loaves for you today! 🍞🤎

Did you know learning the art of sourdough is part of our internship program? As our interns progress through their training, some have the opportunity to learn the entire process—from starter to shaping to baking beautiful loaves like these.

It’s more than bread. It’s learning a skill, building confidence, and experiencing the pride that comes from creating something with your own hands.

Stop in, grab a loaf, and most importantly—tell our interns how well they’re doing. Your encouragement is part of what makes Hope House so special. 💛

💛 TESTIMONY THURSDAY 💛

If you know Nettie, chances are you’ve seen her around town! ❤️

Nettie knows just about everybody, and for a long time, her moped has been her wheels. 🛵 She was thankful for that moped and happy to have the independence it gave her—but Nettie had another goal.

She kept telling us:

“I’m going to get my driver’s license. That’s my next thing.”

And she meant it.

After five years out of the workforce, Nettie has been showing up at Hope House Coffee every day, working hard, building her job skills, reconnecting with the workforce, following the life recovery program at the Union Rescue Mission and taking one step after another toward the life she wants to build.

And now we get to celebrate another BIG step…

At 65 years young, NETTIE PASSED HER DRIVER’S TEST! 🚗🎉🙌

She officially has her license again!

For us, this is about so much more than trading the moped for four wheels. It’s about watching someone set a goal, work toward it, and refuse to believe it’s too late to keep moving forward.

And it reminds us why the Union Rescue Mission and Hope House exists.

We believe God is in the business of restoration. Your past does not have to be the end of your story, and your age does not determine whether God still has something ahead of you.

📖 “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion.” — Philippians 1:6

It’s more than coffee. ☕
It’s job skills.
It’s confidence.
It’s community.
It’s independence.
It’s restoration.
It’s hope.

Nettie, we are SO proud of you. 💛

You had two wheels. 🛵
