Archway Station's mission is to provide psychiatric rehabilitation services to adults recovering from serious mental illness and services to adults with developmental disabilities. Archway also serves children overcoming serious emotional and/or behavioral problems. ‼️Join Our Team - Human Service Worker (HSW3) - Child, Adolescent, & Young Adult (CAYA) Program‼️- Cumberland, MD

There is a full-time (FT) HSW3 position available in the Child, Adolescent, and Young Adult (CAYA) Program. This position includes full-time benefits after completing a successful 60-day probationary period. Good documentation skills and organizational skills are important for the position. Before starting the position, you must pass a drug test and fingerprinting background check. Please read the details of the position carefully before responding.

The position is Grade 4 on the wage continuum (wage range is $20.00 at step 1 - $24.21 at step 12), plus any credentialing and/or years of service incentives: An AA or BA degree in the field and experience working with children is preferred. You will support youth who have been diagnosed with emotional and/or behavioral challenges who live in the community with their parent(s) or other caregiver(s). The focus is on teaching and prompting skill use as well as resource acquisition. You must be able to effectively communicate with the minor's guardian and treatment team, as well as others that may be involved with the minor. You must also have the skills needed to be able to work independently as well as in group situations and should be comfortable facilitating and participating in group activities.

This position involves being active with the youth (e.g. fishing, playing basketball, walking the canal, etc.). DLA-20 training is required and will be provided to you if you do not have it. Strong documentation skills and the ability to document via the electronic health record are important. You must be comfortable with traveling and going into homes throughout Allegany County, with minimal direct supervision. Reliable transportation is required, and you must be willing to drive your own vehicle when an agency vehicle is not available. Travel reimbursement is provided if you drive your personal vehicle.

The regular schedule for the position is your choice of Monday through Thursday or Tuesday through Friday, 10:00am to 8:00pm. During the school's summer break, you will work 8:30am - 6:30pm. Also, occasional weekend work may be necessary for special events.

‼️Join Our Team - Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN)‼️

Full-time (40 hours, Monday through Friday, day shift)

The ACT team shares the responsibility of carrying out the activities designed to assure ACT mission success on and off-site, in groups and one-to-one contacts, in formal as well as informal situations. The ACT team has the primary responsibility for all members' treatment plans, shared responsibility for the ACT caseload, and shared responsibility to work out schedules, coverage, preparation, and implementation of all activities through a commitment to consensus building and teamwork. You will provide services in the communities of Allegany and Garrett Counties. You will receive mileage reimbursement when an agency vehicle is not available.

Qualifications & other important information:

• Credentials as a Registered Nurse (RN) authorized under Health Occupations Article, Annotated Code of Maryland, with a current license in the State of Maryland, and experience working with people with chronic and persistent mental health diagnoses.

• CPR and First Aid certification.

• Driver’s license and safe driving record. Auto insurance. Reliable transportation.

• Commitment to working with people recovering from severe mental illness and substance use disorders.

• Excellent communication skills; highly competent with computer applications.

• Understanding of psychosocial rehabilitation concepts and experience with the public mental health population, including crisis intervention, best practices in symptom management, and current medications.

• Demonstrates the ability to work collaboratively in a teamwork environment.

• Availability for rotating on-call schedule.

• Maintains a high quality of treatment with the ACT team as measured by outcome measures, no-show rates, productivity, client surveys, and supervisory evaluation.

• Plans and carries out individual, family, and group courses of treatment.

• Administers injections and provides skilled nursing services as scheduled.

• Collaborates with person-centered treatment plans.

• Provides health promotion and training as requested.

Classification, Salary, and Benefits: Regular, full-time position; exempt from overtime. Grade 9a on salary schedule. Salary range: $63,650-$79,261

The Cumberland Police Department is proud to partner with Assertive Community Treatment (ACT). ACT is a program of Archway Station, Inc. and the Maryland Behavioral Health Administration.

A large portion of the calls for service handled by the Cumberland Police Department involve individuals facing mental health challenges. This partnership provides another critical tool in our toolbox, enhancing our ability to respond effectively while continuing to make Cumberland a safer place to live, work, and visit.

In the City of Cumberland, the ACT program plays a vital role in supporting individuals living with serious mental illness. Using a hands-on, team-based approach, ACT delivers direct, community-based care—meeting individuals where they are and helping them manage daily life safely and successfully.

Through this partnership, the Cumberland Police Department, the Joint 911 Communications Center, and ACT are working together to provide compassionate, proactive responses while connecting individuals to the services they need. This collaboration reduces crises, strengthens trust, and helps ensure the right resources are delivered at the right time.

From mental health services and crisis intervention to medication support, housing assistance, and life skills development, ACT is making a meaningful impact across our community.
