Our Purpose

District 5280 Rotarians will gather on April 11th to celebrate our commitment to promoting peace and the peacebuilding effects of our wide range of community and global projects. We will do this through the offering of a Peace Walk to bring together Rotarians throughout our District, along with their families, friends and project beneficiaries. We seek to have a strong, visible showing of the good that Rotarians are doing for communities in the greater Los Angeles area. The event will include the following:

A Peace Walk through the public grounds of Magic Johnson Park, with Rotarians and other event participants carrying signs promoting peace
Fellowship among Rotarians, family, friends and beneficiaries
Games for children attendees
Light food items for all registered participants
Peace Walk T-shirts for pre-registered participants that they will wear on the Walk

Peace Walk registration is open! We would especially appreciate clubs or individual Rotarians to sponsor Interactors to attend and assist at the Walk.

On Wednesday, March 25th, join us for Vibes After 5, an after-work party hosted by Helms Design District in partnership with the City of Culver City, designed to bring the community together for music, food, drinks, and connection. Civic leaders and community partners gathered in Culver City to celebrate the groundbreaking of Jubilo Village, a new 100% affordable housing development that will bring 93 affordable homes to at-risk and low-income households.

Located at 4464 Sepulveda Boulevard, Jubilo Village is being developed by Community Corporation of Santa Monica in partnership with Culver-Palms United Methodist Church, with major funding support from the City of Culver City.

The development will be service-enriched, providing onsite supportive services through Upward Bound House, helping families connect with resources and support as they build stability.

When completed in 2028, Jubilo Village will include:
• 93 affordable one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments
• Community and reading rooms
• Children’s and teen play areas
• Community garden and outdoor gathering spaces
• Laundry rooms on each floor
• Subterranean parking with EV-ready spaces and bicycle parking

The project will also be fully electric and built to high environmental sustainability standards.

This milestone reflects Culver City’s continued commitment to expanding housing opportunities and supporting families in our community.

Calling All High School Artists, Musicians, Dancers and Speakers!

Culver City High School students have the chance to participate in The Rotary Pageant of the Arts, an exhibition of student talent in the arts held on Saturday, May 2nd in Lynwood, CA. Students compete for cash prizes in 5 different disciplines: Art (2D or 3D), Dance (solo or group), Instrumental Music (solo or group), Vocal Music (solo or group) and Speech.
