Sorry for the late notice! If you are in Los Angeles tomorrow Sunday May 26 our monthly beach cleanup will be in the usual place. Come out to the beach south of the Venice fishing pier. A good way to start you Sunday. Meet friends or bring family. It’s a nice place to connect with people and the ocean, not to mention contributing to the beauty of the beach.

4/29/92 - the LA Riots - Every year on this day, I am reminded of the day the tention broke in Los Angeles. I was working with a group of young people at Jordan High School in Watts, CA. It was 3 days I will never forget. There are many different opinions about what caused the unrest and who was to blame. What I remember most is how many of the people who were working with the underserved communities in LA were able to come together to help rebuild, after the fact. None of it was perfect, but it is what always makes me look to how we can make positives out of negatives. I think now is another time to look to how people can come together to rebuild positive human connection and heal the wounds. I believe Humanity will allways win. I’m holding the space for the recovery.
