New Tennessee legislation provides a clear legal pathway for EMS personnel to stabilize and transport K-9s injured in the line of duty without fear of liability or veterinary practice violations.

Having playing a part in this sheriffs office to help procure this k9, I want to offer my most sincere condolences to all those that k9 crash touched and worked alongside during his career. Always on the hunt and ready to apprehend!! RIP Crash!! You did your job well!!

It is with a heavy heart that we report the passing of K9 Crash. Crash served the Patrick County Sheriff's Office honorably for five years. He served the Tazewell County Sheriff's Office for two years prior to coming to us.

Throughout his career, Crash was relentless in the pursuit of fleeing felons. He is credited with dozens of criminal apprehensions. The unconditional love shown for his handler, Senior Deputy Dustin Dillon and his family, and to all of our deputies, will never be forgotten.

There is no greater loyalty than that of a dog.

You served us well Crash, we will always love you.
