We're happy to report that our "2025 Sasquatch Squad" was out in full force during the tri. Thank goodness they put their hunting skills to good use and spotted the Sasquatch lurking on our running course!! 😱👣

If you'll be out on the trails this weekend keep an eye out for other riders and enthusiasts... the inaugural Midwest Mountain Bike Fest is happening this weekend in the great land of Cuyuna. Demos, skills clinics, and demos... oh my!

And if you're around on Saturday, join the Cuyuna Lakes Mountain Bike Trails Crew as they host Cuyuna Fest 2025 at Trailside Tavern where stellar raffle prize drawings, live music, delish food, and merriment will ensue.

Last night’s storm and this morning’s gusty ‘breeze’ didn’t deter nearly 400 participants from ‘paddling, shredded, and treading the red’ at our 7th annual event!

Thank you to the RACERS (nearly 400!) and their supporters - we couldn’t do it without you. Watch for a wrap-up email in the next day or so. Fun fact - our youngest participant, Auggie, was 10 and our oldest, Ed, was 78 years young!

Thank you to our VOLUNTEERS - from course marshalls to sweeps to parking, water stops, check-in, and everything in between - it takes an army (100+ this year) to pull it all off!

Thank you to our vendors and sponsors that came out today and/or supported the event in other ways. Our PARTNERS show up every year and provide an undeniable base of support!

👏You ALL know how to put the FUN in FUNdraiser. After this year’s event, we will likely top $100,000 in profit for the Cuyuna Range Elementary School Parent-Teacher Organization - CRES PTO!!! That is no small feat and it’s because of a community - near and far - that supports this event. 👏

Assuming we get the blessing from our friends at the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, we look forward to having everyone back again on June 7, 2026!

Final details for tomorrow morning...

🛶After you drop off your boat (anytime after 6am)... you need a state park permit if you park along the entry road or the small grass lot in the Rec Area.

🚗Parking is not allowed along County Road 30 or in the Pennington boat launch lot so please plan ahead. The Crosby-Ironton High School parking lot is less than two miles away and has ample free parking.

⏰We will be starting promptly at 8am and will share some announcements at that time. Please be near the shoreline/pavilion so you can hear about any important last-minute updates.

☀️The forecast looks good – no threat of storms or major weather right now. If something changes and there's any question about the event being cancelled because of storms, watch our website and page. Remember that the DNR reserves the right to cancel or postpone the race due to inclement weather!

✔️We checked in 75 racers last night. If you want to check in tonight, stop by the Rally Center from 4-7pm, or we’ll be ready to help you at 6am tomorrow. Regardless of when you check in, please remember that everyone must get body marked and pick up your chip timer at the pavilion tomorrow morning. If you know your bib number it will expedite that process!

🤕 Cuyuna Regional Medical Center (CRMC) will have an EMT available to assist with any emergency needs. And our friends from the Minnesota Chiropractic Association will be in/near the pavilion to provide FREE services.

🌱 The trails are in great shape! Bikers: please use the racer plates that will be provided. Runners: please don't run on the high sides of the berms as that can cause damage. Poison ivy is prolific in the Rec Area. Please stay on trails and in designated areas.

📸 The more you wear your bib, the easier it will be for our fancy camera technology to pick up your number and automatically tag you in their system. Wear that thing loud and proud.
♥️Last but not least… please be patient with others and our volunteers. Tomorrow morning will likely be congested, with a healthy dose of organized chaos. We’ll do our best but we’re all here to have FUN and support our local youth with this awesome fundraiser!!

Come HUNGRY and THIRSTY!

We're thrilled that Iron Waffle Coffee Co. and Caribou Coffee will be joining us again!

🧇Iron Waffle is out of Lake Shore and will have their food truck @ the Rally Center, serving up some delicious sweet and savory bites.

☕Caribou is generously donating their coffee ($1 suggested donation per cup). All proceeds will go directly to the Cuyuna Range Elementary School Parent-Teacher Organization - CRES PTO (Nothing fancy, just a nice simple cup 'o joe with cream and sugar available.)

💦There will be a water station about halfway through the running phase of the event and one within the transition area at the Rally Center. You're responsible for your own hydration during the other phases. There's a pump onsite but no running water.
