🌟 Business of the Week 🌟

This week's Business of the Week is none other than Mimsy's Craft Barbecue - A locally owned family business that has become a Crockett favorite and a recognized destination for barbecue lovers across Texas.

When people think of great Texas barbecue, they often think of the big cities. But right here in Crockett, we are fortunate to have a destination restaurant that has earned recognition from barbecue enthusiasts across the state and beyond. From their expertly smoked meats and incredible house-made specialties to their famous Friday Steak Nights, Mimsy's has put Crockett on the map for food lovers.

Now in their 5th year of business, Mimsy's Craft Barbecue is owned and operated by high school sweethearts Kathy and Wade. Together, they have built not only a successful restaurant, but a family-centered business that helps support nine local employees. When they're not serving up some of the best barbecue in Texas, they're busy raising their three daughters, Marley (12), Ellie (10), and Kimberlynn (3).

Their dedication and commitment to their family, business, and community are evident in everything they do. Through long hours, perseverance, and a passion for serving others, they have created something truly special right here in Crockett.

Beyond the restaurant itself, Kathy, Wade, and the Mimsy's team have become known for their commitment to the Crockett community. Whether it's supporting local events, helping with fundraisers, celebrating community successes, or lending a hand during difficult times, Mimsy's is always willing to show up. Their investment in our community extends far beyond the meals they serve.

Small businesses are the heart of every community, and locally owned restaurants face challenges that many people never see. Every meal purchased, every gift card bought, every social media share, and every recommendation to friends and family makes a difference.

If you've been meaning to stop by, this is your sign. If it's been a while since your last visit, consider making it a point this week. And if you're already a regular, tell us your favorite item on the menu in the comments below!

This week, let's celebrate not only a great restaurant, but the family, employees, and hard work behind it. Let's show some much deserved love to a business that has spent years showing love to our community. ❤️

Thank you Mimsy's, for being a big part of what makes Crockett such a special place to call home.

☕️ Thank You for Joining Us at Mid-Morning Coffee! ☕️

This month's Mid-Morning Coffee was hosted at Cattleman's Country Café, where Ms. Margaret treated attendees to a delicious spread of fresh crepes with strawberries, pigs in a blanket, and warm cinnamon rolls. The food was wonderful, and the fellowship and networking were even better!
We were pleased to hear updates from several Chamber members and community partners:
📰 Joe Martin with Kid & The Whole Kid and Kaboodle Magazine shared exciting news about an upcoming two-page feature highlighting the Museum Depot, bringing additional attention to one of Crockett's treasured attractions. Joe also encouraged businesses to consider advertising opportunities in the fall edition, which will spotlight Christmas in Crockett.
❤️ Jacky Lewis spoke from his extensive experience working with hospice organizations and shared the importance of supporting local hospice services. He emphasized the value of having compassionate care available close to home when families need it most.
🏠 Natalie Thornton with CASA of the Pines invited community members to learn more about becoming involved with CASA and supporting children in the CPS system. Natalie also announced that CASA will host next month's Mid-Morning Coffee at First Christian Church in Crockett.
💜 Karen and Heather with Luminos Hospice reinforced the importance of local hospice care. Heather, Volunteer Coordinator for Luminos, introduced the "Light the Way" volunteer program, which includes opportunities to assist with art therapy, life story books for families, and other meaningful services. They are currently seeking volunteers, including individuals with hairstyling experience, to help enrich the lives of patients and their families.
📣 Carolyn Mers of The Yellow Rose Gallery shared how recent community exposure through the Kid & Kaboodle Magazine, local radio interviews, and recently being recognized as Business of the Week has positively impacted her business and helped increase awareness within the community.
👕 Laurel LaRue with Impressions Advertising introduced her Louisiana-based promotional products company, which specializes in business cards, branded apparel, pens, promotional items, and customized marketing materials to help businesses grow their brand.
🎉 Vee Davis with Provalus shared details about their upcoming Family Fun Day for employees and announced that Provalus will host the Chamber's next Business After Hours on July 6th at 5:30 PM.

Thank you to everyone who attended, shared updates, and helped make this month's gathering a success. We look forward to seeing everyone again next month, and hope to see you soon at the 4th of July Celebration that's just right around the corner!!
