We were honored and blessed to have a very special guest visit us yesterday at SVdP Rhode Island! We appreciate the visit from Bishop Lewandowski, who was accompanied by our community partner, Jim Janz of Catholic Charities. During our time we were able to share more about how the Society serves our Rhode Island families in need and discuss ways we can continue to collaborate and serve alongside our Catholic community here in the Diocese of Providence, with Catholic Charities and our parishes.

Patricia Sickinger, our Council President, Steve Brayer, our Vice President, Fr. Giacomo Capoverdi, our Spiritual Advisor, and Renee Brissette, our Executive Director, deeply appreciate the Bishop’s support and encouragement of our mission to serve those in need.

Special thanks to the students at St. Luke’s School Barrington, RI for their school wide toiletry drive led by the 6th grade class to benefit our Program! Today members of our St. Carlo Acutis Conference and volunteers with Necessities for Neighbors program stopped by to chat with the 6th grade and 8th grade classes about the Society of St. Vincent de Paul and the needs we serve in our community! 💙

Happy Feast Day!

Today, we celebrate the Feast Day of St. Louise de Marillac.

St. Louise helped shape St. Vincent de Paul's legacy of service rooted in compassion, dignity and action. Through her work with the Daughters of Charity, she supported those who were poor, sick and marginalized, helping build systems of care that continue to serve communities today.

We are delighted to welcome the Diocese of Providence Ocean State Young Adults on June 6th for a community service event. Mass at 9:30 am | Service 10am to 1pm | Cookout 1pm. This event is an excellent opportunity for individuals in their 20s and 30s to put their faith into action.

Happy birthday, St. Vincent de Paul!!! Pray for us!!

On April 24, 1581, St. Vincent de Paul was born.

His belief that every person deserves dignity and compassion transformed how the world responds to poverty and continues to guide our work today.

More than four centuries later, Vincentians carry forward that mission, serving neighbors in need through acts of charity, justice, and love.
