RI Water Safety Project, In Memory of Jayce Sherman-Chattelle Non Profit 501(c)(3) foundation dedicated to the prevention of childhood drowning. Creating awareness in the ocean state. NOT ONE MORE CHILD DROWNS!

Drowning is the leading cause of injury related death in children aged 1-4. This foundation's mission is to eliminate childhood drowning by creating awareness of water/pool safety. This non profit organization was founded in memory of Jayce Kayden Sherman Chattelle after he lost his life in a drowning accident at his home when he was 18 months old. Proceeds raised are used to buy door alarms, life

jackets and to provide swimming lesson scholarships. We encourage parents to start swimming lessons as early as 6 months old. Drowning is preventable and together we can make a difference.

Myself, Jayce’s father and the board member’s send our deepest condolences during this very difficult time, to the family of the 4 year old boy that drowned yesterday. 🙏🏼

The foundation’s mission was driven by turning our own tragedy into advocacy to prevent further drownings.

We are urging all parents, caregivers, guardians, camps and daycare centers to instill LAYERS OF PROTECTION.
