🇺🇸 HELP US UPDATE THE STONE COUNTY SCROLL OF HONOR 🇺🇸

The Stone County Historical/Genealogical Society is updating our Scroll of Honor, recognizing the men and women connected to Stone County who have served in the United States Armed Forces.

We want to make sure our Stone County veterans and military service members are represented!

📅 APPLICATION DEADLINE: OCTOBER 1, 2026

Applications received by October 1 will be included in the updated Scrolls of Honor being printed before Veterans Day.

Once completed, the new Scrolls of Honor will:

🇺🇸 Travel throughout Stone County as a special community display
🇺🇸 Be available digitally on the museum kiosk at the Stone County Historical/Genealogical Society & Museum
🇺🇸 Help preserve the names and military service of Stone County veterans for future generations

If you have a family member, friend, neighbor, or ancestor with ties to Stone County who served in the military, please help us make sure their service is remembered.

📄 Download the Scroll of Honor application here:

https://stonecountymuseum.org/scroll-of-honor-form/

Please complete and return the application to the Society by October 1 to be included in this year’s updated printed Scrolls.

Help us spread the word! Please share this post with Stone County families, veterans, American Legion and VFW members, churches, community organizations, and anyone who may know a veteran or military family with Stone County connections.

🇺🇸 Help us preserve their names. Honor their service. Share their stories.

It is over 100 degrees right now, but if you know children that may need winter coats, hats or mittens, share our page and tag their parents or guardians in our posts. We are partnering with the Coats for Kids - Greater Ozarks Chapter sponsored by the Knights of Columbus. As soon as we have the details, we will share the event page with the times and location they will be in Crane. October 10th is the date we have so far.

Our community lost a true keeper of history last night with the passing of Rick Gunter.
Thank you, Rick, for all the stories you shared and for all you did to preserve our local history. Your work mattered and you will not be forgotten.
Thinking of his family and friends during this difficult time.
