VETERAN TENT WINNERS AT THE CORSICANA AIRSHO-A RIDE IN THE CAF COYOTE SQUADRON'S T-34 'MENTOR'
Veteran Winner: Adam Mather, US Army
DAR Winner: Jennifer Hovey, Volunteer
Col Warnie Meisetschleager, Unit Leader, presented a certificate to each of the lucky winners for a ride in the Coyote Squadron's T-34. The members of the DAR James Blair Chapter volunteer each year as welcome for the Veterans Tent.

✈️ This Day in WASP History | October 19

A Victory 30 Years in the Making

They answered their nation's call. They flew military aircraft, completed dangerous missions, and helped secure victory during World War II. Yet when the war ended, the Women Airforce Service Pilots were denied recognition as military veterans.

For more than three decades, they fought to have their service acknowledged.

On this day in 1977, the United States Senate voted unanimously, 91–0, in favor of granting the WASP veterans' recognition.

It was a historic victory for the women who served their country and refused to let their contributions be forgotten.

Today, 49 years later, we remember not only their courage in the skies, but their determination to fight for the recognition they had earned.

They served. They sacrificed. They deserved to be remembered.

At the National WASP WWII Museum, we are proud to preserve their history and ensure future generations know the legacy of these remarkable women.
