📣 We've been asking, and Congress has answered! A bipartisan group of Senators just announced a MAJOR permitting reform package.

Federal permitting reform is vital to speed up new energy projects — around 90% of which are clean energy — getting built and connected to the grid.

Jenn Tyler, CCL's VP of Government Affairs, says, “We’re digging into the bill text now to compare it with available modeling and understand what it will mean for clean energy deployment, transmission buildout, and reducing emissions."

A central consideration for policymakers today is affordability. On the surface, this is a problem for carbon pricing, because the whole point is to change behavior through higher prices on pollution. However, carbon prices also raise a lot of money, and how policymakers use that money can have a big impact on affordability.

This webinar will cover some recent research from Resources for the Future on the carbon pricing/affordability nexus, including research that shows how carbon price revenues can actually improve affordability.
