Thanksgiving Together: The Power of Us!

Thanksgiving is about more than a meal. It's about belonging, connection, and reminding our neighbors that they are not alone.

On November 18, Giving 365 will bring our community together for Thanksgiving Together at Circle City Center in Corona.

Our goal is to provide Thanksgiving food bags and holiday proteins for 350 families, along with a welcoming community dinner.

But we can't do it alone.

Every donation, every volunteer, and every community partner helps us turn generosity into meaningful support for local families.

Sometimes the need that brings someone to us is food. But what they find is community.

Every Saturday at Giving 365, we see something special happening.

Families arrive for groceries. Volunteers welcome familiar faces. Young people jump in to serve. Conversations happen. Relationships grow.

What began as a way to help families access food is becoming something more.
A community is growing.

And that is what The Power of Us is all about—neighbors showing up for neighbors and discovering that each of us has something meaningful to contribute.

Our Thanksgiving Food Drive officially launches today!

On November 18, Giving 365 plans to welcome 350 local families to Thanksgiving Together—a family event where they can share a meal, give thanks, connect with community resources, and receive groceries and a turkey or ham to prepare at home.

Help us reach all 350 families by:

Fresh Food Friday: Preparing With Care

Behind every Giving 365 Mobile Pantry distribution is thoughtful preparation and a community that cares.

This week, our pantry bags were packed with nutritious food and recipe cards to help families make the most of the items they receive. Families will also receive fresh bread, large beefsteak tomatoes, and organic carrots.

We are grateful to every donor, volunteer, and partner who helps us provide more than groceries—you help us offer care, dignity, and encouragement to our neighbors.

Sometimes the most meaningful acts of service happen quietly.

During Saturday’s Mobile Pantry, one of our new clients arrived with a broken hand and needed help completing her paperwork. One of our youth volunteers noticed—and immediately stepped in to assist him in Spanish.

She did more than help complete a form. She made sure our client felt welcomed, understood, and supported.

We are so proud of the young people who volunteer with Giving 365. They are developing leadership skills, showing compassion, and reminding us that everyone has something valuable to contribute.

What a wonderful Saturday at our Weekly Mobile Pantry!

Together, we served 28 families and 137 individuals, including 16 returning families and 12 families visiting us for the first time. We were also grateful to receive 22 responses to our Health Access Survey, helping us better understand the healthcare needs and experiences of the families we serve.

A very special thank-you to our youth volunteers and the amazing team from 100 Black Men for showing up, working alongside us, and helping make yesterday’s distribution possible. Your time, energy, and commitment to our community truly made a difference!

This is The Power of Us in action. When we work together, we can do so much more for our families and our community.

Today was our day!

For the first time in nearly six months, Giving 365 received more than **500 pounds of fresh produce**—just in time for this weekend’s Mobile Pantry distribution!

We are incredibly grateful to **Veggie Fresh** and the community partner who helped connect this donation with local nonprofit organizations. Because of this generosity, families will receive more fresh, nutritious food in addition to their regular pantry items.

There is a lot more packing to do than usual—but this is the kind of “extra work” we are always thankful to have!

Fresh, healthy food should never be a luxury. When businesses, community organizations, and volunteers work together, we can help more families thrive.

What an incredible example of The Power of Us!

This weekend’s food and backpack distribution was made possible by organizations, donors, and volunteers who came together to care for families in our community.

We are especially grateful to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Just Serve community, and CarMax Norco for their generous donations and support.

We also want to thank every volunteer who helped organize donations, pack backpacks and food bags, prepare supplies, welcome families, and keep the distribution moving. Many additional individuals donated backpacks, school supplies, food, funds, and their time—and every contribution mattered.

Together, we served 69 families, providing food for the week to 272 individuals, while also helping students begin the school year with backpacks and essential school supplies.

Here is just a glimpse of what happens when a community chooses to show up for one another.

Thank you for helping our families feel supported, valued, and prepared. Because giving truly is stronger in community.

What an incredible community!

WOW! Our community is showing up—and the need continues to grow!

Just this morning, we opened our Backpack Giveaway registration districtwide, and the response has been incredible.

In just a few hours, we've already received requests from more than 70 families representing over 150 students who need backpacks to start the new school year.

Every backpack represents more than school supplies. It represents a child walking into class feeling prepared, confident, and ready to learn.

As the requests continue to grow, so does our opportunity to come together as a community.
