The United Way of Monongalia and Preston Counties Helpful Harvest Program will host a community Diaper Giveaway on Wednesday, June 10, from 2-5 p.m. This event is designed to help support local families by providing access to diapers and other basic necessities that can make a meaningful difference in a household budget. 👶🧷

Families who could benefit are encouraged to register for a pickup time slot using the QR code on the flyer or through the registration link below. Please help us share this opportunity with friends, neighbors, and community members who may need a little extra support right now.

Together, we can continue building a stronger, healthier community where families feel supported and connected to resources. 💙

🚨IMPORTANT ANNOUCEMENT 🚨

Beginning the week of June 1st, we will be expanding our services in our historic home in Osage. This represents months of work and a recognition of the growing need in our community along with the ex*****on of our strategic plan.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU:👉🏽

We will be moving to providing all services we normally provide two days a week on Thursday AND Friday starting the week of June 1st. This will include all of our normal food pantry services, free farmers market, baby and pet pantries, and backpack feeding.

We welcome your feedback related to this change and we know that the community has been asking us to be more present in the Osage community. This is just the first step in growing our presence back in our historic home.

🫀 Mon EMS Introduces Community CPR Classes! 🫀

Monongalia EMS is excited to offer Community CPR classes throughout 2026, with sessions held at locations across Monongalia County to make lifesaving education more accessible.

💡 Why this matters:
According to nationally recognized cardiac arrest research, a person who receives CPR from a bystander before EMS arrives is 3 times more likely to survive. Early action by everyday people truly saves lives.

We’re proud to kick off the first Community CPR class of 2026 in the Western End of the county:

⏰ 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
📍 Mason-Dixon Park
79 Buckeye Road, Core, WV

This FREE, hands-on, non-certification class will teach:
✔️ Adult, child, and infant CPR
✔️ How to help someone who is choking
✔️ How to recognize emergencies and activate 911

No medical background required. Classes are taught by experienced Mon EMS educators and designed for parents, caregivers, teachers, coaches, and anyone who wants to be prepared to help in a critical moment.

Update from Tom Bloom

Bloom News: WISHING EVERYONE A HAPPY HOLIDAY.....

On FRIDAY (tomorrow) at 10:00 TO 11:30 , in front of the Big Lots Store in the Westover parking lot, several neighbors have organized a mini pop up food distribution.

The food will be donated by Krogers, Sams, and Walmart (these are extra donations (from PPM) that need to be distributed tomorrow).

They will also have other (non food) items from PPM for residents to consider for their family.

This will not be a drive thru. Cars will need to park and walk up to the front of the store..

PLEASE ONLY TAKE WHAT YOU NEED SO OTHERS WILL BE ABLE TO SELECT THEIR ITEMS.

Please be courteous and thoughtful when looking thru the donations.
