I just want to recognize the hard work and dedication of another member of our Chaplain program in the Fayette County jail(the Damascus experience). D-block. Meet Skyler! This young man has had a lifetime of struggles and addiction. He was using heroine and m**h at a young age. His addiction led him to a life of crime. He was incarcerated many times and has overdosed many times. But the Grace of almighty God has pulled him from that pit and place his feet upon a firm foundation in the word of God. A couple years ago he surrendered his life fully to Christ. He has attended inpatient rehabilitation and also outpatient treatment. He is a former resident of the freedom’s house transitional home and a recent graduate of the Pathway to Damascus men’s recovery program in Connersville. This man had been sobor over 2 years now! He has a full time job and is learning to navigate life .he is also a great dad to his precious daughter. And has a heart to help men that are stuck in the same pit he was in. He knows the way out and ain’t afraid to tell it. Jesus Christ is the way! We’re grateful to have him on our team just like we are for everyone of them.

Well Praise the lord! Would you help me congratulate this guy? He completed our chaplain program in the Fayette County jail( the Damascus experience). He is planning on and has been mentoring other guys that come into d-block. We are excited to see what God is gonna do with the next chapter of his life. We know that as we follow Christ and continue in his word and allow it to transform us and apply that to our lives we become new creatures and new thinkers.

Meet Randy! I want to honor this man and the quick work that God has done in his life. Randy lived a lot of his life broken and addicted! And that led him to many years of incarceration! He wandered aimlessly up until a little over 2 year’s ago when he came to us at Damascus. He encountered God like never before. His eyes were open after coming off of the hospital bed and off an overdose. Randy now knows and understands that God loves him and he always has loved him. Randy knows and understands his identity today! He no longer is wandering in the wilderness. This man has went from darkness to light and grown and transformed. Wow! He was one of our first 3 graduates and has been sober for 2 1/2 years. This man has help the same job for over 2 years. And he serves and gives back and has took the recovery coach training and is working towards getting that certification. This guy lead the other men in devotions. And he has found his purpose and calling. Randy wants to help and serve in whatever capacity that God will allow him. And he is one of our deputy chaplains at the Fayette County jail program ( Damascus experience). Won’t God do it?!?

Good morning! Meet Kenny. He is a graduate of the freedom house here in Connersville and now a Deputy chaplain at the Fayette County Sheriffs department. Kenny came off the streets of Anderson and Muncie Indiana homeless and strung out about 6 years ago. He has been sober going on 5 years now. After giving his life over to Christ while his stay at the Freedom House he decided to turn his will over to the power of the Holy Spirit and allow him to direct his life. This man is probation free, he has held the same job for over 2 years and has his drivers license, and he is married! He went from a hopeless dope addict eating out of dumpsters to a dopeless hope addict sharing hope wherever he goes! This man is an inspiration to us all. And we are definitely honored to have him on our team.He is a soldier in the army of the lord marching heaven bound.

We just want to take a moment and recognize that these men are pressing towards the mark of the prize of the high calling in Christ! We believe that this chaplain program (The Damascus experience) has been a game changer in these mens lives. We are grateful that the Fayette County Sheriff department has allowed us this opportunity. And we thank the lord that we have this living hope that Christ lives in us. It is our hope that the community will help us continue our mission once these men are released back into the community. As these men experience this new life in Christ they will be led in a new and better direction in life and will need love and support.
