🚨 MICHIGAN BOATERS & ANGLERS — WE NEED YOUR VOICES NOW.

If you boat and fish our Great Lakes, or make your living from boating, fishing or tourism, please take five minutes and contact your federal lawmakers.

This is not something we can deal with after it happens. Juvenile invasive silver carp have now been found dangerously close to Lake Michigan, while construction of the Brandon Road Interbasin Project, our best line of defense against invasive carp reaching the Great Lakes, has been stopped. Once invasive carp establish themselves in the Great Lakes, we don’t get a do-over.

This threatens our waterways, fisheries, our native species, recreational fishing, boating, tourism, businesses and communities across the entire Great Lakes region.

📣 MICHIGAN: MAKE THREE CONTACTS
1. U.S. Senator Gary Peters
2. U.S. Senator Elissa Slotkin
3. Your U.S. Representative

Tell them:
“I am a Michigan boater/angler and I am asking you to demand that the federal government immediately lift the stop-work order on the Brandon Road Interbasin Project, release the federal funds Congress has already appropriated, and get construction moving again. Protecting the Great Lakes from invasive carp cannot wait.”

This should not be political. Protecting the Great Lakes has had bipartisan support for years.
Fishermen and boaters are a powerful constituency. But only if lawmakers hear from us.
Please CALL. EMAIL. SHARE THIS POST.

And tag the boaters, fishermen, charter captains, marina owners and Great Lakes businesses you know.
🎣 The time to stop invasive carp is BEFORE they reach the Great Lakes.

The Trump administration has halted work on a barrier system designed to keep invasive carp out of the Great Lakes.

This work stoppage occurred as juvenile invasive carp were discovered closer to Lake Michigan than ever before.
