At Mend on the Move, we use jewelry making in our therapeutic work because healing doesn’t always begin with words. 💛
For many survivors of abuse, creating with your hands can feel safer and more grounding than trying to explain painful experiences out loud. Research shows that hands-on creative activities can help calm the nervous system, reduce stress, increase mindfulness, and restore a sense of control and confidence.
When survivors sit down to create jewelry, we often see more than just creativity — we see moments of peace, connection, self-expression, and empowerment. Something as simple as choosing colors, connecting parts, or focusing on a pattern can help bring the mind and body back into the present moment.
Our goal is never just to make jewelry. It’s to create space for healing, community, and hope — one piece at a time.
