Special K Ranch Inc. Special K Ranch's mission is to "provide family-oriented Christian homes, on a working ranch for adults who have developmental disabilities."

Special K is unique as we offer life-long residency for our ranchers. Special K Ranch is a place where people who have developmental disabilities live, learn, and work with loving caring advisors who are committed to strengthening living skills and building personal and community relationships. This is being accomplished by family oriented living with only four residents in each home. They are rec

eiving guidance from live-in home advisors and learning independent living and vocational skill by being responsible for personal care, household maintenance, ranch production, and involvement in the community. Everyone works together in the horticulture and livestock programs to help the ranch become as self-sustaining as possible. Until these goals are reached, the program will need financial assistance from charitable support.

Heaven has welcomed a beautiful soul. Our dear friend, Bret Beavans, who was a long-time SKR resident through 2022, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2026. We will always remember Bret’s smile, love for Jesus, and irresistible sense of humor. Memorial services will be Monday, June 15, at 11:00 a.m. at United Methodist Church in Shelby, MT. Please keep Bret’s family in your prayers, and if you would like to make a donation in his memory, please visit specialkranch.org

The residents are busy again with plant sales. Some will be at Dillard’s parking lot on Saturday (5-23) from 9am to 1pm. The others will be at Canyon Creek Memory Care on Friday (today) and Saturday from 9am to 1pm. Stop in and buy plants and your lunch.
The ranchers so enjoy when everyone stops in to say Hi.

K.C. Hickok from the Bank of Bridger and Dan Patterson from the bank board came out to the ranch with an amazing grant for $10,000 from the Bank of Bridger and Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines. Residents and staff are so appreciative of this grant. We cannot carry out our mission without these thoughtful businesses who care about our residents as much as we do. Hickok and Patterson also serve on the Special K Ranch foundation board.
