Meet Jodi!

Jodi enjoys the opportunity Learning Aid Ohio provides to offer one-on-one instructional time and create tutoring sessions that are fun and rewarding for her learners.

“I love seeing learners’ growth and milestone achievements during and after tutoring and instruction.”

Jodi works to make learning engaging and meaningful, often incorporating music and exercise into her sessions to enhance learning. She enjoys watching learners reach their goals and celebrating the progress they make along the way.

Meet Jillian!

Jillian is excited to be part of Learning Aid Ohio and help learners become more confident and successful in the classroom. With teaching experience in grades 4–8 and a license covering grades 4–9, she enjoys supporting learners in Math, Science, and ELA.

“The biggest hurdle that I see occur with a learner’s learning is their lack of confidence when something becomes a little challenging to them with the content.”

As a first-time Learning Aid Ohio tutor, Jillian is looking forward to helping learners work through challenges, build confidence, and feel more successful in their learning. She is ready to support learners as they prepare for the upcoming school year and beyond.

For Tutor Appreciation Week, we’re celebrating the tutors who help learners build confidence in subjects that once felt challenging.

One learner’s family shared that he has been gaining confidence in areas where he often feels behind. After working through math problems with his tutor a few days before a test, he told his family he wasn’t worried because “it’s easy now.”

His family also shared how much they appreciate the genuine and flexible support their tutor provides, always willing to meet their learner where he is and find ways to help him succeed.

Thank you to all of our Learning Aid Ohio tutors for helping learners replace uncertainty with confidence and reminding them that they are capable of more than they may realize.

For Tutor Appreciation Week, we’re celebrating the tutors who meet learners where they are, build their skills, and help them feel confident in their abilities.

One learner’s family shared that, after working with his tutor, Ameenah, over the summer, he has become more attentive at school and has made significant progress in basic math and reading. His learning ability in these areas has improved by 25% since the start of the school year, and he has even mastered some of his IEP goals.

His family especially appreciated how Ameenah knew when to pull back and when to push a little further. Her patience and ability to engage him made a meaningful difference in his learning experience.

Thank you to Ameenah and all of our Learning Aid Ohio tutors for celebrating progress, meeting learners where they are, and helping them reach their goals.

For Tutor Appreciation Week, we’re celebrating the tutors who help learners grow academically while building relationships that make learning feel encouraging and empowering.

One learner’s family shared how 1:1 tutoring at home has helped her build a strong and meaningful relationship with her tutor, Miss Kim, who has become one of her favorite people.

That connection has carried over into both academic and everyday activities. Her focus and verbal response time have improved, and her family has seen continued growth across all areas. One of their favorite moments is hearing Miss Kim praise her for a job well done, followed by the learner proudly celebrating herself.

Thank you to tutors like Miss Kim who not only support learners’ academic growth, but also help them recognize and celebrate their own accomplishments. Your encouragement makes a lasting difference.

For Tutor Appreciation Week, we’re celebrating the tutors who help learners make progress, build confidence, and develop skills that carry into everyday life.

One learner’s family shared that her teacher’s note on the first day of school said, “She didn’t miss a beat.” After years of needing weeks to get back up to speed after summer break, this was a huge milestone.

Through tutoring, she has made progress with using a calculator, building self-regulation skills, and even finding new ways to engage with everyday activities.

We’re grateful to the tutors who recognize each learner’s strengths, celebrate their progress, and help them approach new challenges with confidence. Thank you for making a difference!

It's Tutor Appreciation Week!

For Tutor Appreciation Week, we’re celebrating the tutors who help learners build skills, confidence, and a love of learning.

One learner spent the summer preparing for her sophomore year at. When the first day arrived, she entered the building feeling prepared and ready. Through tutoring with Allison, she not only strengthened her math skills but also built confidence. After years of school being a struggle, her family says they are loving school for the first time, and it shows.

We’re so grateful to Allison and all of our Learning Aid Ohio tutors for creating supportive spaces where learners feel empowered to grow and succeed. Your impact goes far beyond academics.

Meet Deborah!

Deborah is a Learning Aid Ohio tutor with 17 years of experience as a Special Education educator. She is passionate about helping learners grow academically, build confidence, and recognize their own abilities.

“I’m passionate about being part of Learning Aid Ohio and helping learners grow academically and build confidence in their abilities. As a 17-year educator in Special Education, I enjoy creating supportive learning experiences that meet learners where they are and encourage progress at their individual pace."

One of Deborah’s favorite parts of being a Learning Aid Ohio tutor is watching learners grow and make progress over time. She enjoys building positive relationships, celebrating small victories, and seeing learners become proud of their achievements. Through supportive and engaging tutoring sessions, Deborah works alongside learners to help them build skills and confidence.

Meet Heather!

Heather is a Learning Aid Ohio tutor who loves helping learners experience those exciting “I get it now!” moments. She enjoys getting to know each learner and creating tutoring sessions that are tailored to their individual needs.

“I love teaching learners and watching the ‘learning lightbulb’ come on! That sudden ‘I get it now!’ feeling is one of my favorite parts of working with learners. Each learner is unique in their own way, and I am excited for the chance to tailor sessions to each learner’s needs.”

Heather’s personalized approach helps learners build skills and confidence while making learning engaging and meaningful. We’re excited to have Heather as part of the Learning Aid Ohio tutoring community!
