The MAC - Mideast Area Commission The MAC oversees crime & safety issues, zoning, housing and outreach, as well as other community related issues.

The MAC (Mideast Area Commission) represents the neighborhood civic associations and block watches in the 9th and part of the 14th police precincts of Columbus, Ohio. The MAC (Mideast Area Commission) represents the neighborhood civic associations and block watches in the 9th and part of the 14th police precincts of Columbus, Ohio and surrounding areas encompassing: Beechwood Civic & BW; Berwick Civic; Berwyn East Civic & BW, Central Eastmoor Civic; East Hampton Civic & BW; Easthaven Civic; Leawood Gardens Neighborhood Association; Livingston Heights Place Civic; Fairmoor Civic & BW; North Eastmoor Civic; Pinecrest Civic & BW; Re*****on Ridge Civic; South Eastmoor Civic & BW; Thunderbird Acres Civic; and Willis Park Civic. Our boundaries are:

East Boundary Big Walnut Creek

Attend our National Recovery Month event on Tuesday, September 15th from 3pm-7pm at Franklin Park Conservatory.

This countywide event brings together residents, community organizations, healthcare providers, recovery support agencies, local leaders, and families for an uplifting day of education, connection and celebration! At the event you’ll find:

An important request from our partners at Keep Columbus Beautiful:

Following this week’s severe storms, several Columbus neighborhoods are facing significant cleanup needs. We’re reaching out to our volunteer community to help support a South Side cleanup this Monday.

South Side Storm Cleanup
Monday, August 17
1 p.m.
Meet at: The Reeb Center, 280 Reeb Ave.

Volunteers will help clean up litter and storm debris in some of the hardest-hit areas surrounding E. Woodrow, E. Hinman, E. Innis and Reeb Avenue.

Keep Columbus Beautiful will provide gloves, trash bags, litter grabbers and other cleanup supplies.

For everyone’s safety, volunteers should only move branches and debris that can be safely handled by hand. Please do not attempt to move large or unstable trees, use power tools, enter damaged structures, or handle downed utility lines or other potentially hazardous materials.

If you’re available, we’d love to have you join us as we help our neighbors recover and clean up after the storm.
