Today was day one of OPA's 2026 Long Range Planning (LRP) meeting, where OPA Board Members, Student Trustees, Past Presidents, Committee, SIG, and Workgroup Chairs and Co-Chairs, COP faculty liaisons and OPF Board Members got together at the OPA office, evaluated our strategic mission and goals, and charted OPA's course for the next year.

Our Annual Conference begins a new term for the Association's leadership, our Officers and Board of Trustees. This year, we want to highlight our coming leadership team, beginning with our Trustee for District 2, Marilee Clemons, PharmD, BCACP!

Marilee works as Pharmacy Manager, Ambulatory Pharmacy at UToledo Health, and her practice setting is a health system.

Marilee shared "I'm a member of OPA because it has given me the ability to connect with a network of people as well as leadership opportunities that have helped me grow, stay engaged, and make a broader impact on the profession. Additionally, it's given me a platform to advocate for the role of pharmacists and technicians and to push forward meaningful changes that improve patient outcomes."

Do you have a few hours this summer you want to dedicate to the pharmacy profession? Do you want to boost your CV with a non-traditional strategy, planning, and association management role? Join OPA in our Summer Student ThinkTank Program!

This program will offer short-term, virtual discussion sessions similar to OPA committees. We will be meeting for 1 hour every other week over the course of this summer starting May 28th and ending August 6th.

OPA is looking for students to join and give insight on student specific programing (Student Olympics, Student Legislative Day, Policy and legislative engagement, Self-Care Championship, and the Student Business Plan Competition) If you are interested, fill out this interest survey by Thursday, May 14th, 2026: bit.ly/2026ThinkTank
