Caring Matters is looking for volunteers to come out and be part of what we're building in our community. We primarily need people to help hand out meals, pick up trash, talk with our neighbors, and help create a welcoming environment where people feel seen and respected.

You don't need any special experience. Just come ready to help.

Caring Matters provides hot meals to more than 70 of our neighbors each week, and one of the easiest ways you can support that work costs absolutely nothing.

In Loving Memory of Janet ❤️
June 25, 1942 – August 26, 2026

Janet dedicated much of her life to helping others learn and succeed. After attending Colorado College and pursuing a career in teaching, she developed the idea that became TouchMath—a program designed to make math easier and more accessible for struggling learners.

Janet believed every child could learn math with the right support. Through TouchMath, she helped students build confidence and gave teachers a practical way to make math clearer.

Her generosity extended beyond education. Caring Matters Industries, founded by her grandson Logan to provide meals to people experiencing homelessness in Colorado Springs, was Janet’s favorite charity. She was a tremendous supporter of Caring Matters and the people it serves.

There are no plans for a memorial service. For those who would like to honor Janet’s life and memory, please consider making an in memoriam donation to Caring Matters Industries.

Nana Jan has passed away, and our family will be taking some time to grieve.

Nana was also an enormous part of Caring Matters. She believed deeply in what Logan was building and became one of the biggest financial supporters of his work. Her generosity helped make countless meals possible.

Caring Matters will continue. It may look a little different for a while. Nana's passing leaves a financial hole in this project, but far more importantly, it leaves a tremendous hole in our hearts.

We don't want this moment to feel like a request for money. We simply want our community to understand why things may change as we figure out how to move forward without someone who played such an important role behind the scenes.

And if Nana had anything to say about it, she'd tell us to keep going. Keep feeding people. Keep supporting her grandson's project. Don't let something she believed in end because her life ended.

So that's what we're going to do.

Thank you, Nana, for every meal you helped put on a plate, every time you believed in Logan and every bit of love you poured into Caring Matters.

We're going to miss you terribly.

And we're going to keep going.

We raised $345 at our bake sale with Bleezys, and we can't wait to do it again!

Every dessert sold helps Caring Matters continue serving hot meals to our neighbors, and the Bleezys baddies showed up for us in a BIG way.

And yes, the strawberry shortcake had pink whipped cream. When you're working with the baddies, obviously the desserts have to match.

Bleezies isn't just a dispensary. It's one of the most luxurious dispensaries in Colorado Springs. From the beautiful décor to the bathtubs in the lobby, every detail makes it an experience.

The Bleezies Baddies welcomed Caring Matters with an amazing setup for our bake sale, making us feel like part of the family from the moment we walked in. We're excited to continue partnering with a business that believes in supporting the local community.
