WHY YOU KEEP TRYING TO PROVE YOUR WORTH (AND HOW TO STOP)

There are three ways every one of us gets tempted, and they've been the same since the beginning.

The first is the pressure to take care of yourself. Work hard, pay your bills, make it happen. That's not wrong, but it becomes a trap when we stop trusting God to provide and start thinking it's all on us.

God's the one who gives us the strength to do the job, the wisdom to do the job, the opportunity for the job. He will provide everything we need, if we'll let Him.

The second temptation is the one that hits harder: prove you're somebody. We work ourselves into the ground, chase a certain lifestyle, a certain career, a certain neighborhood, a certain kind of car, all trying to say, "I matter."

But here's what Jesus shows us: we don't have to prove anything. Our worth isn't earned. It's given. God says we're valuable, and that settles it.

We're loved because the cross says we're loved. When God looks at us, He sees His Son. He's pleased with Him, and He's pleased with us too.

The third temptation is the desire to have it all, power, control, the ability to rule. Jesus rejects it outright. He's not interested in bowing to anything or anyone other than God.

That's the pattern for all three: depend on God, not yourself. Find your worth in Him, not in what you achieve. Worship Him alone, not the things you're chasing.

You don't have to keep running. You don't have to keep proving. The Father already knows your name, and He's already pleased.

THE ONE THING YOU WERE NEVER MEANT TO DO

Hebrews 4:11 says, "Strive to enter his rest."

But what does it mean to strive for rest? It sounds like a contradiction.

The word strive means to make every effort. So we're called to make every effort to enter His rest.

And that rest is the moment we finally admit, "I can't do it."

Because we were never meant to. He's only asking us to stop trying and let Him do it.

So the striving isn't about working harder. It's about laying down the work we were never assigned.

This is the deeper work of the Spirit, where He takes over the parts of our lives we've been white-knuckling.

Maybe the holiest thing we can do today is stop. Stop trying. Let Him be the one.
