The BMX Racing squad has been hard at work over the past few weeks in Sarasota as they prepare for their first UCI World Cup of the season.👊💪
Thanks to longtime track operators Dave and Erma Miller, the team was in great hands throughout the training camp. Dave and Erma have been running for 50 years, serving as passionate advocates for BMX, especially its growth within the Olympic movement, as well as UCI commissaires. Both have been inducted into the National BMX Hall of Fame and the Florida BMX Hall of Fame.
Following BMX’s Olympic debut in 2008, Erma worked tirelessly to add a supercross hill to the Sarasota track and keep pace with the sport’s evolution at the elite level. After six years, that vision became a reality just in time for Sarasota to host the 2016 UCI BMX Racing World Championships.
A decade later, the track is preparing to welcome the world’s best riders once again as it hosts the final rounds of the 2026 UCI BMX Racing World Cup this October. 🏆
